The Pacific was not a tough division during most of the season, but the closeness of the race at the end pushed Phoenix, San Jose and LA to really up their games, so they're perhaps the toughest in the conference at this very moment. That's also helped by St. Louis and Detroit entering the playoffs awfully cold in their last dozen games, thus weakening the division that
was the conference's best through the vast majority of the season.

Of course, if the Sharks and Kings make the WCF, though, we could safely say that home ice no longer really matters. Afterall, that would mean that the two teams, combined, just played four series without home ice advantage and won all four of them.
