Kmart Un-Appreciation Thread

Kmart is the worst, most ratchety store i've ever been in, I haven't seen one around in years......yet it is my understanding they are still open.

Poor mans Wal-Mart at best.

They still exist? I thought they had all closed, I know there has not been any around here in close to a decade.

The inside of the store looks like a swap meet blew up most of the time...

You get killed on shipping (almost double the cost of the item you're getting) if you don't go site to store...

I have 60 dollars in store credit there, so it can't be that bad.

There are still a couple K-marts in my area.

Two things you notice right away.

1 The store is empty. Nobody shops there, nobody works there.

2. Everything is just crammed on the shelf. Since there's nobody really working there, items don't really end up in the right area, just in the right general area code. K-mart sucks.

I`ve always been a fan of K-Mart bc my Granpappy worked their for 20 years, so K-Mart has always been a special place for my Family. Yes, it is the lesser of the 2 Main Marts (WalMart), however, It Is Still a solid Mart. Love Too Pick up some new "Khakis" every now `n` then from K-Mart.

K-Mart is just a step above TJ Maxx at this point

However, as a result of Kmart's ongoing financial difficulties, the Canadian division comprising 112 stores was sold to competitor Zellers of the Hudson's Bay Company in May 1998, after which the stores were either closed or converted to Hudson's Bay Company brands, mostly Zellers

Inventory at K-Mart is so bizarre. I swear they have stuff on the shelves that hasn't been made in 20 years. I saw a Rawlings baseball glove there a couple years ago, Jose Canseco signature on the palm. Canseco's been retired for how long, at least 10 years, and it's not like they would've been using him as an endorser for the last 5-6 years of his career either.

But I also bought some Klipsch bookshelf speakers there once. Just one lonely box sitting on the shelf. Not high-end stuff but normally you'd have to at least go to Best Buy. I can only assume there was some inventory snafu and stuff that was supposed to be sent to Sears got sent to K-Mart instead (their distribution channels are the same).

If Kmart was that, Canada's version was basically Zellers.
