HL, DEL and EBEL (Austria) games are streamed on laola as other have posted, which is how I'll be watching most of my hockey I guess. I've watched like 4 KHL games so far this season. Good stuff.

This is just such an ignorant comment I don't even know where to begin . So many NHL players spend time in the AHL and at that, it is as a whole a much younger league. The speed of the AHL can be a little slower but as a whole, I find it as a more physical league so it pretty much evens that out. If you refuse to watch anything but the "best of the best", you lack a true passion for the sport.

They aren't in English sadly, but on the Loala link posted before the games don't seem to have any commentary, just the sounds from the ice which is perfect in my opinion, as I don't like to watch a game in silence but also most of the time don't care what commentators have to say anyways, especially (insert your least favourite NHL commentator designed to start a fan flame war here )!!!

AHL Live, you can get all of one teams games for $150. I may do it for the Sound Tigers, I simply cannot go without following a team for the year and it'll be interesting to see some of our youngsters in action.

Hey all,

Just bought the season pass for OHL. Just so desperately craving hockey.

I will report back on the quality of the service later on. Going to watch some archived games first.

Cheers

AHL Live Stream is $50 cheaper than OHL

Ya. Just looked at their prices now. They cost more than Knights tickets, which just seems insane. There is actually demand for Knights tickets.

Exactly! You got it! I want to see the top players, in the top leagues competing. The CFL and MLS and AHL are not of that calibre. In our busy lives leisure time is at a premium. I feel it is a waste of time to watch these 'lesser' leagues.

I hear your argument, but disagree. True passion for sport would be participating, not watching. Thus, we are all not so 'passionate' as we might think. Further, if these players were good enough for the NHL (the best league with the best players in the world - on this point, I assume we agree.) they would be playing there, regardless of age.

Walmart chocolate is cheap too. That does not mean I would prefer a pound of it instead of paying the same amount for an ounce of Laura Secord. To extend your logic: if Laura Secord is closed I should go and buy (for cheap) a lot of Walmart chocolate.

Hockey is not hockey. The AHL is a lesser league with lesser players. Are you a fan of the Canadian Football League, or Arena Football?

Since the absolute best available for you is your only option, I assume you drive a Bugatti Veyron? If not, by your "logic" you're driving an inferior car.

You made the worst possible analogy with your Chocolate example. You wouldn't buy pounds and pounds of the cheap chocolate, you would buy an ounce or two, enough to satisfy your cravings, remind yourself why you usually buy the good stuff, and save your money for when it becomes available. Just like you wouldn't buy 98 Toyota Camries if the Veyron wasn't available.

I live in a city with an AHL team. I usually drive 2 hours away to watch NHL hockey. I could get full season AHL tickets on the glass for less than I pay for 10 games in the upper deck in an NHL arena (and I go one of the cheapest NHL arena's around)

But I don't need that much live hockey in my life, I have too many other interests. But that doesn't stop me from from dropping the $20 to occasionally go to the AHL game if I have nothing else going on that night. I still have a good time at it for less than I usually pay for just gas and parking at the NHL game. Now that the NHL isn't playing I'll probably go to more. It is just annoying for me as the local AHL team is affiliated with an NHL team I can't stand, so I don't want to see it's players do well.

But it still doesn't prevent me from enjoying myself at a game. Just because I'm not as emotionally involved in the game doesn't mean I can't enjoy a great pass, an amazing save, a good fight, or a spectacular goal.

Hockey is a great game, my suggestion is for you to learn to appreciate it in all of its forms. Not every form can be the "best" but that doesn't mean the others are without their merits.

Thank you for the intelligent dialogue. It's a pleasure to discuss hockey (sports) and have a bit of fun too. No I do not drive the car you mentioned. I ride the bus. But it's the best bus one could possibly ride!!
