I feel like TMac (Sharks) has done a decent job. THE SCF has eluded us, but im ok with how we have done. Then again, Doug Wilson has gotten us such a nice team that Im not sure any coach could screw it up.
I like Boudreau a lot, but I need to see us get to the third round at least before I give him the full support. His lack of playoff success should ease the minds of any fans whose team Anaheim draws in the playoffs.
My team's coach won the Jack Adams last year. Sure some Sens fans haven't been happy with some of his line combinations this season, but I'm extremely happy with the Paulrus.
MacLean has been awful this year. Some real baffling decisions in terms of line combos (he is still juggling the forward lines like crazy and has a mostly healthy line-up), using players in the wrong situations (eg. Defensive specialist Phillips on the first PP unit for the first time in his life ALL SEASON LONG, Chris Neil playing more minutes than Bobby Ryan, starting goalie decisions was a coin flip for the first 3 months), NEVER calling a timeout when we are starting to feel the heat, etc. etc. etc.
I would have to think the only way one is truly happy with their coach is the moment the team lifts the cup. Because when a new season starts, the criticism starts over again.
I like Julien-he makes decisions that I wonder about and sometimes seems to love players far more than I do but in general he seems to know how to win and build a team that can win and his players seem to have a high regard for him (granted what players say to media isn't always the whole truth).
