Aside from the Olympics/WC, I wish they'd just do away with anthems before games.

Go to Russia, comrade.

Removing the anthem is sort of tricky, it's been a fixture since the war, and in every sport.

Do they have the anthems before every Olympic match? I know they have the anthem of the gold medal winner (read: MURICA) when they do the flag raising, but I didn't think IIHF hockey had anthems before games.

You're probably right. I just think it's a waste of time, although I understand it on the world stage.

I get what you're saying. The fewer interruptions between the players stepping on the ice and the puck dropping, the better it is for the play.

People on the main boards actually think that the Rangers would buy out Brad Richards? I know they like to throw away money in NY but.....

So the LA Kings social media team turned over the account for a period to a local radio guy who made an inappropriate joke. I see where the Kings social team were coming from. MLB had Rob Delaney 'take over' their account for a few hours about a week ago and that was a bit of fun.

Where the Kings deviated is that MLB twitter peoples vetted each tweet before they were posted, and actually didn't let some be used.

The pressure of the radio guy taking over for a period during the game puts the onus on being current, and because he's only there for a period, he's got to make the takeover worthwhile because he's already on stage. Bad combination.

Rob Delaney took over @MLB from like noon-7pm on a Wednesday. It was an amusing bump during an ordinary day, not the middle period of a playoff game.
