Do yourself a favour and do not get the Rogue Maple Diarrhea.

Judging by what you've listed as had, start with the easier Ontario craft stuff. GLB Crazy Canuck, Muskoka Mad Tom, Flying Monkeys Hoptical, Grand River Curmudgeon, Wellington ESB...St Ambroise Oatmeal Stout, Kipling, Ayinger Hefe. Ignore most of the imports.

Also, you're in a bad spot being in Windsor. I really hate saying this as a huge supporter of Ontario beer, but you should just cross the border.

Having something called Milk Stout by Left Hand. Nice coffee flavor in the after taste.

It's a good beer. See if you can get ahold of the Duckrabbit Milk Stout somewhere, at least to me it's what I would say is the best I've ever had of the style.

We did a milk stout blind taste test a few months ago. Most choose Left Hand but I picked Duck Rabbit.

Three Floyds Moloko is the best milk stout I've had, but like all their stuff it has to be traded for and it's not so much better as to be worth it.

So tonight I killed one of the true white whales of the beer world: Lost Abbey Cable Car Kriek. There's maybe a few hundred bottles of this left in existence, if that, and almost none outside of Toronado SF. Rather than simply brag about this (which I did on Facebook, just to bug my friends), I'll make some instructive observations:

1. The beer is phenomenal and worth the $50 it cost for a bottle. If I could drink one sour for the rest of my life, it would probably be this one (among what I've had).

2. If you never get to try this beer, don't worry, be happy, drink a Cantillon Kriek, and know your life isn't any worse off.

3. Getting and drinking these rare beers is mostly about being "in the moment". I was at Toronado, with some friends, it was available, we were having a great time at a fun conference, so why the hell not?

For tonight I got Boddingtons and Kronenbourg Blanc. Seeing "fruity" on the Kronenbourg label has me a little worried, but we'll see what happens! Like I said I've been wanting to try more ale which is why I got Boddingtons.

100%. All of my top drinking experiences were all about being in the moment. Fou Foune at the brewery just hours after arriving in Brussels, the 2010 3 Fonteinen Gueze at the highest rated bar in the world (may not be anymore, but who cares!), etc...I could drink those beers regularly for the rest of my life, but I highly doubt those specific moments will ever be matched. Regardless of how good the beer is, there's just something about being in the moment that makes it that much better. Something that you hope for every time you open that highly sought after bottle, but it only truly feels amazing after you've been awake for 24 hours, met someone really cool, or are in a bar you never thought you'd get to. It's all about the moment.

Looking at the white whale list posted late last year on BA is interesting. 50N4E is available at the brewery right now...does that kill it's status at all (I know it's just for fun and so many people on BA hate it)? I had a '12 Zwanze, same recipe as the '08...it's like, the same thing, man! I have a bottle of Armand & Tommy, and it's heavily rumoured to be showing up here soon...so that's cool, I guess.
