Would love to see Maclean dress Dzuirzynski, Klinkhammer & Gryba for tonight's game against the stinking Rangers. We have lots of depth & we should use them especially in games where the Rangers are head hunting are star players. We need to protect them & Condra, O'Brien & Gilroy aren't going to protect anyone.

You want to dress up guys with a whopping "0 game" NHL experience in Game 3?
Klinkhammer << O'Brien < Condra
We don't need an AHL version of Shean Donovan in this game either.

Yeah and I would like to see Maclean flying scissorkick Tortorella in the face but its not going to happen.
That's interesting.
Funny thing about this whole situation is Boyle started it and now he very obviously doesn't want it. You could see Neil taunting him after their fight, (which Boyle really wanted no part of) with the intention of seeing if they can get Boyle off his game. I get why Rangers fan are mad at the suspension situation, but honestly, do they see Rupp or Prust running around like jackasses? the answer is no, because they know that unless they want Gaborik and Richards targeted you don't do what Boyle did. Credit to the Sens for taking it to Boyle, and not their stars. I thought the Boyle thing was bush, I thought the refs absolutely blew this up by giving a penalty to Karlsson. I thought Carkner got what he deserved, and I think Boyle got put on notice, act like a jackass and you will get whats coming. And i think Shanahan is telling Boyle that too, if you want to rough up their best player then you have to answer the bell, league isn't going to protect you.
Frankly, that's the way it should be.If Shanahan throws the book at Carkner, the message is clear, stars are targets., and the rats starting the problem can hide.
Best way to handle this, if you're the league is to penalize guys who do what Boyle did. If ottawa gets a PP after that this situation doesn't escalate.

I agree, good post ... but now that it has started ... I would like to see Ottawa finish it.

But but but Boyle was helplessly assaulted for no reason at all

Boyle made it worse, you saw it with Neil, they know he's scared to fight and now the mind games really start. I know he's outmatched with Carkner but if he just holds on it ends there. Instead he knows he still has to answer the bell, goes out and atleast drops the gloves with Neil before trying to end it as fast as possible. At that point the Sens know they are in his kitchen. Ottawa getting last change will be really interesting.
Well, Condra has one more goal than Spezza and Michalek put together.
O'Brien has one more quality rush than Spezza and Michalek put together.
It's amusing how some are so against DD or Gryba because they have no experience & yet they are okay with O'Brien who has very little experience & called him a bust & Gilroy who most on here hated not all that long ago. I think I was the only one who used to defend O'Brien & now everybody is on his bandwagon but don't want the other guys who the organization has made Black Aces.
I get it ... they like the skilled players like Zibane, Silver & Petersson what else is new but not so much the hard working grinders until games like what we are seeing in the playoffs when the tough guys are suddenly required. Ottawa has a number of young players in their first playoff game, most on here didn't think they would have done this well. DD & Gryba were part of that Calder Cup run too & coach KK has said that DD is one of his most improved players. I think both these guys will be callups next season, I think they are close, this might be the wrong time to bring them up but I don't see a huge difference between those two & Gilroy, Daugavins, Klinkhammer, O'Brien or even Condra in a tough series.

I think what you need to remember is, O'Brien and Gilroy have NHL experience. Believe me I don't want Gilroy in the line up at all, but at least you know what you are getting.
I am even questionable on Silfverberg, but the guy COULD potentially make an impact.
Dziurzynski and Gryba have never even played in a single NHL game, and throwing them in the fire in the middle of a heated series is a terrible idea. NHL playoffs are a whole different animal, especially this years. We don't know if they are up to the challenge for the speed of this level.

So you think it is amusing that people want O'Brien and Gilroy who have been with the team for a few months and know the system the teams plays over some guys who just came up from Binghamton? I personally think that is pretty reasonable.

Well considering what has been happening around the league in the playoffs I would rather have guys who can handle themselves & stick up for their teammates than guys who don't or won't. Let's not kid ourselves O'Brien has very little NHL experience too, I doubt he is any more ready for playoff hockey than DD & don't look for Gilroy to stand up for anyone. I too doubt either of these guys get into a playoff game but I'm just saying I would prefer them over the other two regardless of how much more experience they have. Now I'm off to the game ... GO SENS GO.

Do you think the Sens are soft? We aren't... why bring up a bunch of minor leaguers? Greening has faught this season... four times I think, he is a monster of a physical specimen. Michalek is not a physical guy really but he is huge. Spezza has been in fights, Turris got in a fight this year.. not like he is tough or anything but he faught Briere.. he is not going to wilt and is playing awesome int he playoffs. Foligno is tough and fights, Winchester has got in fights and is a tougher guy. And Neil, Konopka... Zack Smith. Cowen is huge and has faught.
Like what are you thinking? This is not just a tough team through the lineup.. they could be the TOUGHEST team in the NHL. You write like we are a soft team or something... we aren't at all. We don't need to call up grinders who are tough from Bingo.. we will have a guy on each line or more than one that is willing to drop the gloves and play tough... we have Cowen on defence for a third of the game.
