Ha, I laughed when I saw that post, too... been signs pointing that way all week, not sure why txpd was so adamant. Don't know much about Johansson's illness in the preseason, but sure didn't help him. Trying to take advantage of one of Perreault's streaks if he's still on one given the days without a game.

If Wideman isn't healthy (assuming he is missing skates for health reasons and not other reasons,) he shouldn't be playing. It's an 82 game season and then more, we hope. With the LTIR space, if he isn't 100% to start, they should be using someone else.

I want a complete game out of the caps tonight. 5+ goals.....hold the canes to <24 shots and <1 goals. Go 2-4 on the pp with lots of great opportunities, win the faceoff battle and hits. And out possess and skate the canes.

Bring it every game no taking periods off.

That our 2C is the guy with potential to get healthy scratched is unfortunately unsurprising but completely ass backwards.

Finally, the new season is here. Been a long off season and I can't wait for 7:00PM EST. Here's to a long season of hopefully awesome hockey. To me, this off season has seemed like an eternity, even more so than last.

Cheers!

I love how BB is determining who's in the line-up based on how the players played in preseason and in practice. No more giving guys automatic spots just because of who you are.

Just ****ing win.

I like the "must compete to play" direction he seems to be going as well.. Just wonder how far "up" the food chain it'll go?? Does Nicky also have to watch his back?? We'll see.. Could be a great motivator! (could backfire too.. Anythings possible with the Caps)

I'll predict 3-2 Caps. Laich, Semin, and Green. Top line will struggle.

^^ That looks about right. Maybe switch Knuble and Brouwer, can't remember which was where in practice yesterday.

Green's offense looked pretty good in preseason, I hope it can carry over. Or should I say, I hope Green's offense is available in May-June.

Only took bruce 4 years to attempt accountability! A little late and rather overboard.

Green looked great in exhibition. His old point-per-game form. I share your hope.

If we are preaching accountability, why should MJ get an auto start over MP, who was FAR better in camp and preseason?

If MP struggles to create opportunities for Semin, MJ will be right back in. And if he doesn't create ... right back out.

At least I hope that's the case. The pressure is on someone to step up. Hopfully MJ takes it to heart and comes back roaring when he gets his opportunity, which he'll get sooner or later.

Well if were doing accountability by production MoJo should have never seen the ice in the later half of the season.

Going 4 seasons with basically not being accountable and then the 5th season saying "were going to be accountable now" isnt going to work.

Either way, it's long overdue IMO and lays the groundwork for any incoming coach if it doesn't work.

Well intellectual integrity says that it was the right thing to do with MoJo/MP.
