Stars 2 - Hawks 1

Sloppy defense tonight and Lehtonen was great for Stars

Sucks to start year off with L ,,, It is what it is

--- Figured our HF fanbase is large enough for PGT ---

What did I just watch?

That was awful. Poor defense across the board. Crawford's the reason this game was only 2-1.. Lehtonen deserves the W a lot more than the Hawks do.

Whoever says the PP is fine, because where it ranked yada yada yada, should shut the eff up. It stinks before, and still does.

Lehtonen wins.

I had a feeling the Hawks were going to come back. Definitely put the pressure on towards the end. Overall for the game I'd give it a C+. Crawford played well. Its only game one.

I really hope Q brings back the STK line. Their scoring chances to time on the ice ratio is sick.

Will Frolik ever learn to finish?

Also, can Q let the lines stick for ONE game...

Team got better as the game went on I felt. Skated well they just couldn't quite get it done on offense. Defense needs to stop with the mental errors, the way the stars were hemmed into their own zone there was no reason to give up two goals.

Ultimately a game lost to a hot goalie, it won't be the last time it happens this season. Lets wait a few games before we start reaching for the panic button alright guys?

Edit: I liked the STK and hossa, frolik, brunette lines we had at the end. They seemed to click but it may just have been desperation

Absolutely pitiful on special teams tonight. About three quality chances total on three power plays is unacceptable. Also, the Hawks better hope they don't take many penalties this year, because the PK is still absolute trash.

Let's hope they're just working out some kinks, because that was a completely underwhelming performance in all aspects.

Overreactions based on one game are foolish. Glad it wasn't a shutout.

kane looked great tonight along with hossa, leddy was OK, keith was not good... all in all not a terrible result considering some key guys are out.....but still even with bolland in the lineup we need another C....

Keith doesn't make that horrid TO and Pirri hits an open net on that two on one and its a tie or better. Didn't catch a break tonight, definitely deserved a W, at least an OT loss.

Last season. There's reason I called it "non-clutch". It deserves it. This game is more proof.

Eh, hard to be upset, despite the sloppy play of more than a few of our guys, as Lehtonen was just that good.

PP cost us a point. They need to replace Keith with Seabs on the PP. Q changed up lines throughout. That must be very frustrating playing with new teammates on every shift. Montador looked to find a home on D later in the game. Lepo runs around with his head cut off too much. Was that a washed up Brunette or Gilmour?

All in all it;s only one game on the road and we put up 38 shots.

The Hawks lack of physicality last year must have rubbed off on Montador, SOD and lepisto. We heard these guys were suppose to be gritty. That was not apparent to me tonight. It look like they avoided contact. The forecheck was laughable and disgusting.

Oh and Bickell had 1 nice, noticeable hit which is exactly 1 more noticeable hit than he usually has. He must be improving.

Well only 1 game and at least we only lost by one point. /rant
