30-13 shots, 3-0 in favor of the good guys at end of 2. 5 on 3 for the Wolves to start the third.

Taffe to Fouacult on the PP. Foucault with the twisted wrista from sidewall as DiSalvatore going to net...

Guess DiSalvatore got a piece of it....DiSalvatore from Foucault and Taffe...4-1 Aeros.

Foucault dangles behind net for awhile and draws penalty with 1 minute left.

Safe to say the team looks pretty good again or is Chicago just that bad?

Aeros win 4-1.

Wellman really good first two periods. Similar to Wild game last night as started the third with a few penalties.

Foucault looked great on the PP and in the offensive zone.

Nystrom was invisible.

Pretty quick team...looked like Wild vs BJs....don't know how good the Wolves are supposed to be. I will say that Jordan Schroeder was invisible.

Quick movement out of zone...guys hustling and winning one on one battles...and skill guys like Taffe, Wellman, and Foucault made some nice plays.

I am trying to be objective since I am still stoked by the Wild last night...but I thought this team would struggle without Spurgeon, Scandella, Gillies, Osully, and Earl....this game they looked quicker and more skilled than the games I watched last year....

They are affiliated with Vancouver now, not Atlanta.

Nice to see Foucault show up for his first game. Inconsistency has always been his problem. Taffe was a big pick-up and it showed in his first game. Really hoping Medvec, Kuemper, and Fontaine get loaned to the ECHL if they're not getting action in Houston. No point in keeping Medvec as the 8th d-man(and there's a possibility we send someone back when Lundin's healthy), while in Kuemper's case the ECHL didn't hurt Anton Khudobin's development. Fontaine, he's probably closer to actually getting in, though Almond's injured right now.

I think getting Torchetti as coach is all good - they will develop good Wild down there.

searched but can't find about the lines and special units from Chicago game as i get from jbcraig's posts it's like ;

Nystrom-Welman-Palmer-Hendry-Prosser
Foucault-Peters-Ortmeyer-Cuma-Penner
Taffe-Rau-Di Salvatore-Fredheim-Genoway
Broda-McIntyre-McMillan

my guess about special teams ;

PP
Taffe-Wellman-DiSalvatore-Cuma-Prosser, Foucault-Rau-Palmer-Penner-Genoway

PK
Peters-Ortmeyer-Hendry-Prosser, Nystrom-McMillan-Fredheim-Cuma

any opinions?

The Wolves are well known for being "win first, care about development later."

The reason why Winnipeg didn't retain them as their AHL club is because TNSE owns the former Manitoba Moose (now St. John's Ice Caps) and league rules prohibit the use of another AHL club when a team owns an AHL club. (See Buffalo's issue with Pegula's purchase) Come to think of it, there's been a lot of shuffling at the AHL level this year.

This is what I remember. I could be off one or two players...

Prosser-Hendry
Cuma-Penner
Genoway-Fredheim

Ortymeyer-Peters-Foucault
Taffe-DiSalvatore-Rau
Nystrom-Palmer-Wellman
Broda-Macintyre-McMillan

PP

Taffe-DiSalvatore-Wellman-Foucault-canít remember

Foucault played halfwall on right side. I believe they were running the diamond PP.

Can't say I watched the game but don't see Disalvatore being a center on any line, especially with Taffe and Rau who are centers, I'd assume Taffe would be the center on that line(Rau played wing on Wellman's line last year). I'd also assume Wellman would be the center on his line, as he played C last year in Houston(Palmer played LW).

With Nystrom gone, I'd assume Fontaine will take his spot on that line. PK, Peters, Ortmeyer, McMillan, McIntyre, after that it could be interesting(I'd lean towards Taffe/Palmer).

A little late to this discussion, but consider the fact that the 14 of the 20 Aeros players had played at least 1 game with the team last season.

Contrast that with a Wolves team who has bits returning from Chicago, along with some coming from Vancouver's old AHL team, along with other FA signings. Not a huge surprise that the Aeros had alot more continuity to their play.

I was just putting lines together from what I could remember. I don't recall seeing Wellman take faceoffs. Also, if he was playing center, he was ignoring his defensive responsibilities and was always coming down on the wing.

Anywho, I am confident in the D pairings and that Foucault was with Peters and Ortmeyer....I am sure Ms. Conduct or cjerina could correct me as they are able to watch the games live.

Yeah was more responding to berdush using the lines you put together. Certainly possible Nystrom was playing center on Wellman's line.
