I'll be disappointed if there isn't a moment of silence before every home game, to be honest.

You're right though, that the Stars should have a special moment of silence for Karlis.

I am almost positive Dallas will have a moment of silence for Karlis and the whole KHL team.

As for the game, I can't be anymore excited! In 12 more days i'll be going to see the Stars vs Habs at the Bell Center! My first Stars live game in over 2 years and only my 3rd time watching the Stars live ever.

Sharp is out 3-4 weeks with an emergency apendectomy, might miss this home and home. Would be a good thing for us if he sits the opener.

What will the lineup look like come opening night? Do you guys feel Eric Godard or Jake Dowell will see playing time in the bottom 6?

I think Godard will play somewhere between 5-25 games for the Stars this season barring massive injuries. Dowell should be a regular on the 4th line with fill in duties higher up the depth chart.

Really? I think Godard will be around more than that, to be honest. We need someone who wins fights, not.....well, you know. Him.

It would be a terrible use of assets to have Godard and Barch up on the 23 man. Godard has a 2 way contract... so it's easy to have him down in Austin.

Forgot Godard had a 2 way. Barch will most likely see most of the 4th line "enforcer" duty then. Hopefully Godard gets some time. Add Ott, Burish, Fiddler, and Dowell to the mix and Dallas has a very physical lineup.

Seems the Stars PR aren't banking on us making the playoffs either.

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. I watched the rise of the Blackhawks bandwagon in the 08-09 season. This came after about a decade of Chicagoans telling me "No one cares about hockey! LOL." Now I want nothing more than the Stars to beat the Hawks 30-0 every time they play each other.

Please boys, win these first two for all of the Stars fans in Illinois.
