No. He wasn't re-signed, and this summer became UFA. Honestly, I think he's got all the tools, but lacks the mental toughness to play in the NHL. He wasn't even consistent in the AHL, and management got tired of waiting around for him to put it together. Chris Mason was a more steady choice, whether or not he had the potential that Lasak has. Simply put..there was no room for Lasak, anymore. He wasn't reliable enough to back up Vokoun, and he couldn't play in Milwaukee, because it would take time away from our top goaltending prospect Brian Finley(who is on a slippery slope, himself)

Yeah, unfortunately for us, he was never able to duplicate his world championship performances on North American ice.

Does that mean that Finley would be back as goalie of the future in Nashville???

He's got some competition from Finns Teemu Lassila and Pekka Rinne, now.

To answer your question, yes...but like nomo says, Lassila is creeping up rather quickly.

From what I saw at rookie conditioning camp, Lassila already has Finley beat. Mike McKenna also appears to be better but he has one more year of school. I truly think that Lassila could be in Milwaukee this year and end up as #1.

Just my 2 cents.
