No surprises really, do any teams need a backup goalie? Hopefully not as Deslauriers has looked pretty good in the pre-season

They both had good pre seasons and this is to get them to the Crunch. Hopefully they don't get claimed.

Well if the Ducks had to lose 1, I would have rather it been Mcgrattan.

Odd. I thought Deslauriers was on a two way contract for his first year and then one way the second year. Did I miss something? Or were the Ducks willing to part with him?

Type of contract is irrelevant, it just determines how much money the player makes while playing in the NHL and the AHL.

I believe the waiver rules depends on number of pro seasons / age.

EDIT: Just reading up on it here's the law: "Once an NHL player has played in 180 NHL games, or has played three seasons since signing his first NHL contract"

Well hopefully Nashville gives McGrattan a chance.

Syracuse fans won't like this...

I sure hope Murray will go after McGratann's replacement. We got some talent to protect in Syracuse.

Koci is still available. Not my favorite, but he can do the job.

I could actually see Murray claiming Stortini since he is on a two-way contract. Try to sneak him down to Syracuse at some point. Not a great fighter though.

Troy Bodie is out there and would take a two-way contract. Again not a great fighter.

I like the idea of Bodie! He was good for us. Fought, and played PK. Is like a young version of Shawn Thornton. Sign him!

Agreed. I'd like to see him back as Ducks property.

One more vote for Bodie. I was upset when he left.

Isn't J F Jacques penned for Syracuse once his suspension situation is cleared up ? He can protect the talent though he might not spend the entire year in Syracuse.

Oh I see. The two way contract was for monetary purposes. Still odd.

A lot of people mistakenly think two-way contracts mean you're waiver exempt. Every season the same questions crop up around this time of year.

We have EA sports to thank for that.

I believe 2-way contracts also affect re-entry waiver eligibility and off-season cap accounting.

For recall waivers, if you make more than ____ (which all 1-way guys would), and you are subject to waivers, then you are subject to re-entry waivers.

Minor points.
