The thing I notice about all these centermen is that they all had a good season 3 years ago, and have slowly declined in points, and whats worse, games played.

Lindros - I hear he still wants to play in Toronto, and this might actually be a viable solution, and not a bad idea to boot. But surely the Oilers will not be the only team in the bidding here. I fully expect Lindros to be able to pull down $4+ million, and that might be too rich for the Oilers blood.

Allison - refused to go through a medical examination by Canes doctors. Red flags went up and Canes didn't want to talk contract any more. Rumour has it that Allison is still not fit to play but is trying to get a paycheque anyways.

Zhamnov - seeking $5 million. Next.

Stumpel - Makes sense price-wise, but in my opinion, Stumpel is one of the laziest players in the league. Oilers fans would grow to hate him in weeks. Furthermore, he's a huge step down from Nedved or York.

Lastly, Perrault - I actually like the guy, but he's a 3rd line centre on the Habs, and he's probobly a 3rd line centre on the Oilers too.

I wouldn't mind Demitra...I was a big fan of his when he played in Ottawa and felt he never got the chance (The Sens got good mileage out of Christer Olsson )

The only thing is that he pretty fragile...But he's a pretty good player...

EDIT: Didn't realize Demitra was a right winger. Doesn't really address our need at centre but nonetheless, he could be a good offensive weapon for the Oilers.

First of all, I'm extremely disapointed that we lost Nedved. He was the kind of player the roster needs... but anyways time to move on as always ...

I'm still hoping that Keenan wants to move Weiss out of Florda personally and more hopefully for some like Izzy in return

I sure hope that Lowe is not considering Conroy as a first line replacement I'll have to seek him out and kick him.

Today, I more strongly feel that Kevin Lowe should have made a push for Radek Bonk at the draft. He ended up going for a third round pick, and Edmonton had a boatload of picks to make a more competitive offer than Los Angeles.

Too bad.

Anyone on the trade market who might be available?

If they didn't want to pay Nedved just over $3mil, I don't see why they would want to pay Bonk more than that.

Ouch! After watching Bonky play in Ottawa the last few years, I don't know if I'd want to pay my third line centre $3.5M. I'm a Bonk fan, but not for that price.

Demitra has played alot at center. He would be my first choice but he will be too expensive. Get ready for the Allison show foks. He's going to end up with a team that is the most desperate...cue the Oil!

Demitra can play center, but that isn't the problem. We just can't afford his 6 mil + salary.
