Ok I guess the forum finally caught up...it showed my old post (plus tons of new ones) all at once. It showed a 3rd page but every time I clicked on it, I would get redirected back to the 2nd page.
Hopefully there are no more quirks like that, I'm gonna wear out my F5 key at this rate.
D'agostini brings something different with is speed and strength on the wing! I really like him and Steen is also quick and really hard working. Arnott, I like his game even if he's slow. He plays intelligently! This line is not bad at all. Our weakness except from goaltending in this game, is transition between defensemen and forwards. Today, only Shattenkirk is able to move the puck to offense. Pietrangelo has had difficulties with his passing today.
Somebody has to instill some confidence in these guys. Steen scores the goal and all of a sudden, they look better. Solid powerplay to end the period, too. Hopefully that does it, but I hope their coaches and captains can do something to make that confidence more permanent.
It's clear this is also about increasing comfort. The d-pairings are clearly not used to one another. I think that's part of why Halak looks awkward. I thought that goal was not his fault at all. It hit McDonald's stick a few feet in front of him and completely changed directions. But he still appears a bit behind the play, and I think as he gains more confidence in his defense, the whole team will respond. I just hope it happens soon instead of getting worse.
Still, they're in the game. People were down on them for their play against Nashville, but they manhandled the Predators at even strength. They're shaky now, but the game is even. If they can find their legs, they're going to be a force.
