When will the X:60 and S19 Drop in price?

With the APX and RS released when will I be able to stock up on sticks for cheap? I remember when the S19 came out i was able to get my S17 for like 140 or so.

I saw the X60 in store at Total Hockey for $169 on Tuesday and I think the S19 was $189.

I was told by a friend that worked at a mojor hockey retailer that they wait for awhile to drop their prices on the higher end sticks. The stores start dropping the lower end to middle end sticks first and when they go out the door then they will drop the price on the higher ends last.

He told me that for the lower end sticks there isn't as much of a mark up on them, but as you start moving up in quality of the stick the mark up gets more and more, so they try to recover any loss on lower end sticks.

Makes some sense to me as I just bought my x40 stick last weekend for $70 dollars and they also had ST's marked down from $160 to $130. Most of the higher end sticks weren't marked down yet.

I got a x:60 for 89,90€ which is about $120

I was like OMG WTF

But I think it may have been mispriced.

In local shops I've seen the prices cut anywhere from 10% to 50%. Online I haven't seen price drops. I wonder if there is a minimum price they can advertise until the new product has been out a while, i.e. Bauer and Easton want you to buy the new product rather than the closeout stuff.

At my LHS they cut the price on S19s by around 20-30% I think, didn't notice if X60s changed in price. Every shop is different, they'll cut the price item-by-item if/when they have trouble moving it.

Sometimes you will see stuff cheaper in store than it is online toward the end of a product line- generally it has to do with MAP pricing regulations.

Just go to various online dealers. Most have cut prices by today on X60's. A few have reduced S19's. Example: Pure hockey has x60's for $120. TSR has them for $120 or $125 and I think S19's for around $150.

I remember when I could snag a top end stick for under $100, I guess those days are long gone

I blew out all my X:60s and S19s over the last month anticipating the new sticks at 50% off. We get rid of them early to make room for the new stuff and you'll find that at many LHSs out there.

Forget the X60, pick up a One95 instead. They're getting hard to find, but the prices have dropped a lot.

From what I've seen, prices stay high until all they're left with is lefty 100 flex p02 curves. If you don't care about flex or pattern, you can get some good closeout deals.

But my guess is the 77/87 right-handed X60's won't go below 140-170 in most US distributors. As an above poster said, one95's can be had for a steal, but IMO good luck finding one in the right flex/curve.

I just got an X60 on Friday. $100 Pro Stock at the Columbus Blue Jackets game. Was Scottie Upshalls

Last year I got a Warrior Dolomite there, $75. God do I love their stick sales

Something to think about guys:

If a store can sell older S19s, S17s, X:60s or whatever at their original retail price, why would they lower the price and lose out on that consumer surplus?
