I could watch this play all day. He bailed out Sullivan big time.

Karlsson's got a leg up offensively though. Tanger's got to get a little less erratic with his shot.

Either or, both our teams have a core D-man for the next 10 years.

Letang 323 GP 33-118-150 pts (3rd round pick 2005)
Yandle 331 GP 37-134-171 pts (4th round pick 2005)

Yet the difference in hype is truly amazing.

Yes, because we all know that career numbers truly show how good a player is today.

As far as I understand, Letang is first of all a good defenseman, and his scoring abilities go as a nice addition. Not sure about Yandle...

Letangs defensive ability, rediculous speed, and still untapped potential are what seperate the two..

Plus his gorgeous hair...

Could have something to do with the fact that over the last 3 years, Yandle has recorded less than half the hits Letang recorded just last year alone, despite playing half a season's worth more games and that Letang has 4 goals and 22 points this year in 24 games while Yandle has 5 goals and 27 points in 48 games. I know the hits aren't that meaningful on their own, but they'll earn a player some extra hype, especially when that player is a good offensive player (because people love when offensive stars still play physical) and Letang's very, very good defensively, blocks more shots, plays more PK and just takes his team to another level when he's in the lineup. And he shows every sign of taking his own game to a new level this year. Yandle averages 10 seconds SH time on ice per game. Letang averages almost 2 minutes.

I think I'm supposed to hate the Pens, but I'm a hockey fan and they've got some great hockey players. Hard not to be a fan.

Letang is great. He still needs to work on the accuracy of his shot and passes, and defensively, I still think he has hiccups in the transition game.

But, with that said, he's made huge strides in his defensive coverage, and his skating, puck and stickhandling skills are among the absolute best in the league among defencemen and can even rival many top forwards, imo.
