It seems that it was good move by the Flames staff to select some great offensive talent. Bärtschi and Granlund are ripping it off in their respective leagues ( Markus Granlund in his 6 games in November 4+2=6 in Finnish Elite League ).
Hopefully they will keep producing good numbers in WJC aswell
Any reason as to why Howse is struggling so profoundly this season? Just hard to adjust for him?
Just another prolific junior sniper who's game doesn't adjust to playing against men. If he doesn't figure it out soon, there won't be much hope left for him. He's a soft, one dimensional player who's conditioning has often been criticize.

Isn't it a bit soon to be throwing in the towel on him? He played 8 games and got hurt, he hasn't even had a chance to get into any form of routine yet. Its hard for anyone to figure it out that quick

I think he was not as good as had been thought, and Horak is much better than folks believed. You have to figure he had a close to NHL ready center in Horak.
I realise that announcing here the prouesses of Bartschi may become boring.
An interesting figure .
with 8 games less than the others (25% or 33% depending on how you look at it) ...
he is 4th in points with 53.
yet he is leading th WHL in assists in absolute terms !! he has 23 games, 41 assists !
The 2nd with 31 games has 36 assists
the 3rd with 30 games has 31 assists
the 4th with 31 games has 30 assists
and all the rest are under 30 !!!

He's got 2-3 years to figure out the AHL before he becomes a write-off, I'd say. I wouldn't hinge any great expectations on him, though; that's for sure.
I thought everything was pretty spot on. I think your top 5 rankings are exactly right, and I think after that it is largely a toss up and most of our prospects are too early in their development to tell how they are going to turn out, but I think your 6-10 rankings are close. At least we have some prospects to finally talk about though nice work!

Thanks I appreciate that, I would be curious to see how you guys would have these players ranked because as you said it really is a toss up after the top four or five players.
I actually think after Baertschi your rankings are quite a bit off.
Nemisz is getting seriously underrated here. He is not behind Horak or Reinhart and whether he is behind Brodie is extremely debatable.
I also think Irving is being very underarrated too, IMO he is our #2 prospect. He has far and away been the best player on the Heat this year and last. Then Nemisz and Brodie would be a toss up for #2.
I also think the omission of Byron is a glaring error but you already owned up to that.

Its always nice to see how each person personally ranks our prospects. You seem to put a lot weight on ones performance in the AHL which is understandable.
Caught the game on SN1, Bart only got 1 assist, but damn, kid can pass, silky smooth passes all night! everytime he touched the puck he impressed me, won a lot of battles, there was a couple times he stopped moving his feet, but when he did, he made opportunities.
I found he had a slow start to the game, though. He looked very much like he was just chillin' through the first period. 2nd and 3rd he started to turn it on and look a little more like a guy who gets 2-3 points a game.
True. The forwards looked like they were letting the defencemen do all the work in the d-zone, and there was a total of approximately two guys on the entire team who were actively forechecking.
