Good luck. Here's to no injuries. Hopefully the goaltending matchup is more even than it was in the playoffs with Vokoun starting tonight. I'm predicting 3-2 Lightning. Semin, Brouwer; Stamkos 2, Downie.

Ugh... I was supposed to be going to this game, but my friend gave my ticket (that I had already paid for, mind you) to his girlfriend with a promise of "pay ya back later". Very angry.

Still, can't wait to see the game.

Safe to say we'll have a little bit more jump tonight than we did Saturday.

Having Roli go for us will help out as well. Let's do this.

Vokoun is confirmed.
http://twitter.com/#!/SkyKerstein/st...80616667299840

It's interesting what's going on in Washington. Vokoun didn't start the season for the Caps. Neuvirth did.

Vokoun doesn't have the better record (comparatively) against Carolina (the team they opened against) but he also played for the Panthers when most of that was established. An unspectacular pre-season may have sealed the deal.

Looks like they've got a goalie battle going on in Washington, and that can be good for us. Both tonight, and over the course of the season.

You want goalies who push each other to succeed, but are also to be there as a safety net if one of them should suck on a particular night. Not to 'take their job' as soon as they mess up. It turns their attention away from stopping the puck in front of them, to stopping the puck to make sure that they don't get overtaken by the guy on the bench. (which then becomes, to stop enough pucks to be better than the other guy)

I am glad Gilroy is scratched. He has looked awful, he seems to not be ready to play this system. A ton of hesitation and not enough jump for a good skater

Sounds like knee problem for Lightning D Ohlund worse than first thought. In line for a procedure, coach Boucher said. Out at least a month.

What a thing to have happen in the year of his contract where he is also paid the most.

Are you a cop or something? Wouldn't work be at like 1AM for you?

You crazy euros.

EDIT: I also find it amusing that once again Caps fans are clamoring for someone to run Roli. Because it worked so well during the playoffs.

Hehe nah, but I have to get up like an hour after the game. Not sure if showing up with rings under my eyes will make a good impression in just the second week at the job.

I love that 'thorn in both sides' comment from Boucher.

I also always enjoy a Lightning - Caps game, especially when the Lightning aren't getting shut out by Varlamov. Of course, they had to go and pick up another guy who has the Lightning's number in Vokoun!

Maybe upwards of two months?

Canoe, SFY said '4-6 weeks, no longer'.
http://twitter.com/#!/LightningTimes...23990655483904

Downie, if you're hearing me, and for some reason I don't doubt you are, I want you to check Alex Semin over the boards (through the glass if necessary), and into Pierre McGuire.

If that happens, the. jokes. will. never. end.

Nice GTD, BTW. Very clean unlike some jumbled messes out there. Nice shots of the goalies.
