I have been in warmer Igloos than the RBC Center temp 2night!Thankfully, the Canes Powerplay is Heating up the North Pole Conditions inside.
In Tweet Deck I have Tripp and Chip's feed columns side-by-side. It's quite a treat.

Tripp had an off-air moment of glory today down at Raleigh Center Ice during Canes practice.
A TV crew was set up in the lobby, doing something with Ruutu. According to Sundheim on Twitter, they were there doing something with Finnish station MTV3.
For whatever reason, they were getting footage of Ruutu playing table hockey with some guy, walking in and out of the door, driving off, etc.
As Tripp was leaving he barged over to the table hockey game (while the crew was standing around, the lights were on, and God knows if the cameras were rolling) and said, "Hey Ruuty! I'm leaving town for Chicago today!"
Ruutu, not really paying attention to him: "... Oh?
Tripp: "... yeah... ... ..."
Ruutu: "..."
Tripp: "Yeah, I'll be back tomorrow though."
Ruutu, still not looking at him: "See you later, buddy."
Tripp leaves.
All in all this will probably be my new worst impression of Tripp Tracy.

Doesn't Tripp have Twitter now? If so, has anyone tweeted him a link to this thread? Could be epic.

I'm going to post one that I believe is a Tripp classic:
Tripp: I would like to see a lobotomy done on him when Stillman's career is over.
*Awkward pause*
John: ...You would?
*Awkward pause*
Tripp: ...Metaphorically speaking.

I guess I'm in the minority that actually like Tripp.
Mainly because most color commentators that I have heard are much worse than him, both in the things they say and the quality of information.

I mean there's nothing to hate at all about Tripp. Of course he's a huge homer for the Canes, but he also gives tons of credit to the opposing teams during the broadcasts. We all know he has entertainment value. He's basically an HF Canes section cult hero.

He's a good foil for Forslund. They make blowouts tolerable.

He comes across dim witted but their are much worse color guys out there... if he wasn't paired with Forslund, I'd probably want him replaced.

Is Tripp a good foil for Forslund? Or is Forslund a fantastic play-by-play guy because he ignores most of the stupid things Tripp says/sneakily calls Tripp out for his flaws as he succeeds at calling the game?
