There's nothing to lose right now. 1 goal in the last 2 games and a loss at home against the worst team in the league. A couple of injuries so he will most likely atleast start in the 1st line, hopefully instead of C.Berglund whom shud be benched ASAP.

Like I said, we have to take a chance and let Kabanov get alot of ice time right away, need some new injections.

Is it official? It doesn't really make sense, as he goes to another team with 2 good imports. If Kolesnikov went the other way it makes even less sense becuase it means Armada can make room for import Kolesnikov but no Kabanov. Can someone explain what I am missing in the situation.

Went to Shawinigan's website...and he's been added to their roster. And his comment about it on Facebook basically seals the deal.

Good luck Kirill!

Great choice, shawanigan is playing in the mem cup this year so that'll be beneficial for him.

I guess this rules out Farjestad when he talks about Memorial cup?

I saw that too on facebook. Much better option than Sweden. If he went back to Sweden he would have to get used to the bigger rink again. One of the better Junior teams, memorial cup will put him in the spotlight. Good move.

Looks like the teams flipped Import players. Nikita Kolesnikovs is now listed with Blainville-Boisbriand.

Shawinigan must really want more punch up front to part with Kolesnikovs. He had 10 points in 13 games with the Cataractes, including a +12 before the deal. Huge guy, too. Listed at 6'06", 216 lbs.

I'll have to try this. Not retailed up here, but when I'm around the Stuttgart area, I'll keep an eye open.
Those ratings are bunk. Trust me, if you can land one, it's amazing. Sweet, fruity and rich. The only beer I can put ahead of Maudite.

You know, it looks like a sealed contract for 8 games with FBK, but i doubt they will stop him if he prefers Shawanigan. But even if he goes to Sweden for 8 games, i guess he will return and play for Shawanigan after this.

He LOVES that he gets to play in the memorial cup and he has quite a few buddies on the team....Michael Chaput is his good buddy, and he called him up personally to try and convince him to play for them, and Anton Zlobin has been his good friend since he was 6 years old....this is a great situation for him.

Crisis averted. I did not want him playing in the SEL. He should have a good season and I'm still pissed he didn't have a few games here on LI.

Let's see what happens. Mr Rundqvist in Farjestad will not be fooled around ( as many other Europeans has been by NHL teams ). But still you will win i think, even if FBK insists ( which i don't think they will, but who knows? ), but a small fine perhaps will come out of this.

At least he's not with the Astigmatisms. Everyone seems to have them figured out.

Farjestad says that they already have a deal with Islanders, Mr Rundqvist doesn't care about Kabanovs transfer. He says, that if Kabanov play good in Farjestad they will sign him for the rest of the season.

Maybe Kabanov will be forced to go to Sweden for 8 games? But i doubt that FBK has an option for the reminder of the season, so if he plays 8 games for Farjestad, most probably he will return to America later it seems?

edit. It seems like FBK might have an option for the rest of the season regarding Kabanov, but i haven't got it confirmed yet. Let's say it's 50/50.

I don't think Islanders will take the risk breaking valid contracts for Mr Kabanov sake? It will result in bad PR and fines. It could be Kabanov and his agents sneaking behind Islanders back? Kabanovs agent doesn't answer when the swedish media try to reach him.

Yeah, this whole situation is a cluster****. How do you trade/transfer a player that isn't on your roster and has signed for a team in a different country? It's amazing that for a top sport the leagues and countries still can't get their act together on some conformity and consistency. Kabanov is going to be wearing 3 different layered jerseys and red eyeing across the world, wth!

Is anyone else annoyed that Snow just handed this guy a contract for no reason?

This looks like an illegal transfer ( it should be canceled accordingly ) alright, but NHL could also missuse it's power. But let's see, maybe the deal with Farjestad wasn't fully closed, even if i tend to trust Mr Rundqvist.

I don't know about the coaches you mention. The deal Farjestad had was directly with Islanders. It shouldn't matter what the junior coaches, Kabanov and his agents does. But sure, Islanders maybe confirmed the transfer to the other Q team? If that's the case, he probably will stay in North America.

It was even Islanders that contacted FBK! according to news.
