Plus does Landy even play like Franzen? Isn't Franzen's problem effort and consistency? Those are Landy's strengths.
fair enough. hey, they are both damn good players with completely different strengths. A Modano-like centre that is very savvy on the PP or a horse-like power forward that can play in your top 6... need both.
I just find it odd that last year Skinner wins by winning the rookie scoring race, yet this year, suddenly, entangible becomes more important than making pucks go in the net. strange

Because the intangibles of the top 3 guys in the race last year were not that big apart so they went with scoring. Lando's intangibles are so off the chart this year that it really makes it hard for voters to go against him.

I haven't seen anyone talk much about intangibles at all when it comes to Landeskog this year.
Two-way ability, backchecking, ability to read the play defensively, physicality and so on are very much tangible things. They are as tangible as passing or shooting.

I think intangible and "not kept on a stat sheet" have become interchangeable for people, and it's oversimplified and definitely overused. You can certainly SEE the things he does on the ice, whether it's things that can be quantified in a stat or not. Anyone reading his stat sheet would not be as impressed as they would be by watching him play, that's for sure.
Oiler fan here. I think Lando wins it. he's been good. but do i wish we had pick him instead of RNH? not a chance. i'll take the next Modano over the next Franzen everytime.

Cool ! Sweden could have very strong team this year. Detroit is out, and when one of the Ottawa/Rangers get eliminated they gonna get some more elite pieces to their roster.
