That's the way I like them. Dallas is doing a great job away from the puck and generating the odd chance off the cycle when they get it into the St. Louis end. This is exactly how they have to play to have success.
and just when I say that the Stars get lazy and the game starts to get away from them..
pick up your feet boys. We need to get to the intermission tied!
Nice work ethic so far; that was necessary after the previous game. Like the 3rd line so far at this early stage of the season. Hope they'll find the scoring touch more in future as the 1st line doesn't seem to click yet.
So going back to the phoenix game again.... ive been watching a little of the nashville-phoenix game and they were having the exact same problem on the powerplay and in the neutral most of the time except for pekka isnt performing up to kari's standards
how am I naive ... did you not see the crowd in our past two home games this season?
Who buys tickets in those uber-expensive lower-bowl seats? Corporations. What relationships have been most dynamited by the not-paying-bankruptcy-bills, not-hiring-marketing-and-sales-staff issues over the past few years? Corporate sales.
Outside of the team, which group has the economy just blasted in the past 2-3 years, making them question investments like season tickets to sports teams? Corporations.
And that's before you bring in the factors of a.) the individual purchasers hating Tom Hicks' guts and many refusing to buy tickets while he still technically owns the team, 2.) the policy to no longer give extreme single-game discounts to games like this so as not to anger the existing STH base, pi.) the recession's affect on the non-corporate population and cube.) the team's poor on-ice performance for the past three seasons.
It's not something that will be fixed in November when the sale is official. It will take the summer and probably a few more years to build this team back to where there is a 2,000 person waiting list for season tickets.
And plenty of "traditional market" teams have had terrible attendance dealing with just one or two issues that are choking the Stars ticket base right now. Boston, Calgary, Edmonton, Chicago, Detroit, Ottawa, Buffalo and (old) Minnesota all come immediately to mind.
