Its not like Marty is claiming to be classy himself. What's wrong with calling a spade a spade?

There's a classless gesture and there's assault with a weapon. I just find it humorous to hear him give a lecture.

Classless for Marty is playing an NHL game with an illegal curve. Zing.

He's just pumped up and got a little excited. The taunting looks worse because of how bad Beagle got hurt. Otherwise, it was beautiful to see. Like Domi's heavyweight title taunt or P.J. Stock's signature wave to the crowd.
Exactly, Beagle was a willing combatant. Damn, Asham can throw em'. Great fight. love it. Sorry, Beagle, i bet he has a headache this morning.

Wonder how the Caps felt when one of their own took out Crosby with a cheap shot

That's my point. It looks bad. Very WWE. Domi and Stock played in a different time, when fighting wasn't a contentious issue.

Just 7,949 announced in Dallas last night, after 6.306 on Monday. Yes, Rangers in ALCS, but those numbers are killers.

Everyone so outraged with Asham's taunting...Yet defended Lucic when he did it. Interesting.

I don't get it. So Asham's gesture is worse than Ference showing his middle finger to fans?

That's pretty cool. Seems Streit has a pretty big leadership role since the commentators say he suggested it.

EDIT: Well I'll be damned...he's their captain.

Yeah, apparently it was Streit's idea. Happy to see him embracing the leadership role like that, good for him. The Islanders are my second team so I hope they have a good season (as long as they finish behind Montreal)

Pens fans sure changed their tune about taunting since the Gillies incident.

And as horrible a human being as it makes me, I thought the Asham thing was hilarious. I hope Beagle is OK and I don't condone it, but they showed it on the big screen at the BC during the 2nd intermission and the collective 'ohhh' followed by laughter was very noticeable.

Pens fan coming in peace. Created a poll on the Pens' board speculating on Crosby's return.

http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=1005281

I think that his return to thr ice would be a home game, if the Pens can swing that happening at all. It may be too soon, but of the upcoming schedule the game with you all stands out on October 20th. He has been practicing hard with the team for over a month now, so perhaps his time practicing with contact might be abreviated. In any event, returning before the home crowd, against Montreal with all the canadian media there, would be . . .

You just want him to come back against Montreal because they're full of soft midgets who never hit anyone

Well, better than against the Isles and that whole history with the game that blew up last year. But that was not my thinking all kidding aside. Crosby seems to have an enormous respect for the game, and the history. And for your team. I remember his first trip to Montreal his rookie year and how excited he was to play there. I could see him wanting it to be at home, similar to when Mario came back after his being gone from the game, and against you all if it were possible is all.
