On the rookies.

You can see the talent is there for Zibby, but he needs to become more polished in the NA game, I say send him down to Bingo or SEL and bring up Petersson.

Cowen looks like hes finally settling down, he gaining his confidence with the puck and will look like the beast that we saw in preseason by game 10.

DaCosta is NHL talent, he just needs to cleanup in his own end and take some better shots.

Rundblad looks like Karlsson when he started, he will start to show his talents once he has a secured spot and gets comfortable.

If Da Costa keeps playing like this he'll never have to ride a bus in Bingo

Wow. You really have no clue, do you?

I shouldn't bother, so I'll defer to your solid analysis here. Off you go now.

Wow.

Feel free not to reply to any of my posts, perhaps a thread can be started for all the haters to post in, it would clear a lot of the forum up for fans of the Ottawa Senators.

Are you kidding? You're celebrating decent? Every time he's on the ice and has the puck it seems like a ticking time bomb.

When he was signed, we had no obvious puck mover on the team and he was supposed to fit the role... the cost was 1 season too many.

Go to 1:27 of the game highlights on TSN. What a tire blow by MacLean!

I loved this game! So much energy, great crisp passes already so early in the season, great tempo!

The Da Costa-Alfie tandem was great to watch. Da Costa looks like a legit 2nd line C.

I also loved the 3rd line line, I would keep it intact for a while.

I liked what I saw of both Rundblad and Zibby, but I'd still send Rundblad down to the AHL and Zibby back to Sweden. I don't like seeing Lee, Butler and Filatov on the bench. Rundblad can still come back later in the season if/when a roster spot opens for him. Zibby can use a whole season honing his offensive skills in the SEL.

Michalek-Spezza-Butler
Filatov-Da Costa-Alfie
Foligno-Regin-Neil
Greening-Konopka-Smith

... but you give Greening plenty of shifts on the 1st and 2nd line to add some occasional energy.

"we" didn't boo anyone. a bunch of idiots in the crowd did though. They should be ashamed of themselves, but they're just too dumb to even get why.

during the player intros, they loudly booed gonchar and kuba.

i just wish i could have been near one of those ******** while they booed.

I am the 1% who booed Gonchar. I don't regret my actions. I was displeased with his effort and I let him know. I felt he was too soft on the puck and his shot selection was iffy. I paid for my ticket, and Gonchar gets paid 5.5 mill a year and I was dissatisfied with the on ice product so I let the boos rain. Fans are allowed to get vocal at sporting events. It's not like I booed the anthem or the vet at the game.

Your posts just seem to be complaining about other people here while failing to recognize this board has many thoughtful and knowledgeable posters. Every teams fans are the same they just cheer for different teams. If you're so concerned why don't you try to turn the discussion in a different direction instead of calling people out and then adding nothing at all?

That said I really don't see the point in booing Gonchar, but otherwise that was one of the better crowds I've seen in a while at SBP.

Sorry.

This is ok then I guess.

SV%: .867 GAA: 4.36

Anderson hasn't been good to start the season. He wasn't good tonight.

The first goal was weak. The third goal was weak. He didn't get a lot of work (which, to be fair, is hard for a goalie) and he was outplayed at the other end of the rink. If Backstrom has anything like Anderson's game, Ottawa blows Minny out of the arena.

Mediocrity wasn't ok from Gerber, it wasn't ok from Leclaire, it wasn't ok from Elliott and it isn't ok from Anderson. Sorry for having higher standards of my team's goaltenders?

I was at the game tonight, here's a few thoughts.

First, you can thank Chris Neil for those 2 points. He stepped up and really brought this team to life. (Also, 2 big hits on Heatley and some slashing at the faceoff dots doesn't hurt )

I defy somebody to tell me they honestly think Lee could bring what Rundblad did tonight. The kid impresses me everytime he's on the ice. He has ridiculous poise and vision. For those who think he needs to play half a season in the AHL, I disagree. The things he needs to learn he's only going to learn in the NHL. The speed and intensity of the game are what he needs to adapt to, and sadly the AHL just doesn't have it.

And god, the Anderson hate is ridiculous, he had no chance on those goals.

Kuba played very well tonight, he looks much more confident in Maclean's system.

Kuba and Gonchar were both booed during the introductions, which was disgraceful.

Lastly, full credit to the DJ tonight. The music was well timed and the fans responded.

The crowd energy was great, it was a carnival atmosphere. Home opener + Alfie love + Heatley agitating + new jerseys (thanks, Jerk Store) = great crowd. Oh yeah, winning the 1st of the season helped too.

Bumped into Sensquatch. I liked that a group of girl fans dressed up in red & black leotards. Nobody was too plastered and obnoxious, at least not that crossed my path. That's the kind of party atmosphere a hockey game should have.

About the refereeing, there was a lot of interference by Minny (obstruction on Regin long after a dump-in, some picks in our zone) that went uncalled.
