pats 2001 (first taste of a championship in a long time w/ a dramatic end)
sox 2004 (broke the curse)
bruins (first in my lifetime and in game 7)
celtics (first I remember)
pats 2003 (football > baseball, another last minute FG to win)
pats 2004 (football > baseball)
sox 2007 (everything > baseball)

Bruins
[reserved for next Cup win]
Pats '01
Pats '03
Pats '04
...

Don't care.

Edit: I shouldn't say I don't care - I was pumped about the first Sox win and the amazing comeback against the Yanks but I just don't care nearly as much about baseball. I never watch basketball at all.

LOL Celtics

I enjoyed watching the revs lose the mls cup more than the Celtics winning.

04 Sox first for me -- there were some pretty epic storylines with that team, and they brought me out of "discouraged fan" status. I literally did not watch a game between Game 7 of the 03 ALCS and the playoffs in 04. That ALCS was still the single most amazing playoff series I have ever watched -- one for the ages indeed.

Followed by the 01 Pats. Again, too many great stories for me to rate anything else other than '04 above them, too many all-or-nothing plays where the boys got it all.

Next up is the '11 Bruins. Just a solid, likable team battling and scrapping and winning when it counted the most.

07 Sox next -- good team, fun to watch, exciting year, but just not quite the same caliber of postseason. The ALCS was fun though.

The other Pats championships in a loose lump about here, mostly because I wasn't in a position to actually watch them at the time. I just don't have a feel for how hard those wins were so I can't rate them higher.

And the Celts bring up the rear, mostly because that was a team that was supposed to win, it would have really been a disappointment if they had not done so, so while I can credit them for doing what they were brought there to do, they just didn't outperform the way the 11 Bruins (or to an extent, the 04 and 07 Sox) had to do to win their championships.

For anyone questioning the talent level of the 01 Pats just remember, the 01 squad won the SB, the 08 squad didn't. You take the talent, i'll take the championship.

01 Pats
04 Sox
11 B's
04 Pats
03 Pats
07 Sox
08 Celts

Ranking them purely in terms of what they meant to me personally, I'd have to say that the 2004 Red Sox and the 2011 Bruins were numbers 1a and 1b. The 2001 Patriots and the 2007 Red Sox rank just a tier lower than those, and a tier higher than the the 2003 and 2004 Patriots. Bringing up the rear would be the 2008 Celtics, though I still enjoyed witnessing it.

i have the bruins 1st, but the pats 2001 is very close. & as you mentioned , 1st championship (at least for me). Not much of celtics fan so the championship's in the 80's really didn't matter to me.

I'd have to do it by Best Boston Sports Moments since 2001:

1. Bruins 2011
2. Pats 18-1
3. Red Sox 2011

Last: Red Sox 2004 and the rise of the Evil Empire Jr.

/Bitter Jays fan.

I'll take the talent and the championship. 2004 was the best team the Patriots had.

4:2003 pats
5:2004 pats
6:2008 celtics
7:2007 red sox

Oh and by the way screw the red sox lol. I was honestly hoping the devil rays were going to do what they did after this guy called in 98.5 in late august and said that debacle would happen and they laughed at him. lol idiots.

What? The Celtics won the NBA title in 2008?? I thought Paul Pierce won the NBA title all by himself that year?! I mean, why else would he individually thank every member of his extended family (remember his Uncle Mike?) for getting him to where he is today prior to the banner raising ceremony. I'm pretty sure Paul Pierce won not the Celtics.

Anyways:
1. Sox in 2004 for the biblically historic precedent
2. Bruins in '11 - waited my entire life for that
3. Patriots in '01 - miraculous
4. Sox '07, Pats other 2
5. Cannons
6. Revolution's Buffalo Bills imitation (4 straight Finals losses)
7. All American Ron Simmons victory over Big Van Vader for the WCW Heavyweight title
8 Paul Pierce

The Bruins of course

Honestly if there is 1 team that no one believed in it was the 2001 Patriots, they are #1 in my opinion. No one gave them a chance against the Rams saying don't even show up Pats!!

Sox comeback against the Yankees was also great

Bruins 11
Pats 01
Pats 03
Pats 04
Sox 04
Sox 07

Don't like the Celtics so the 08 win meant nothing to me.

Don't assume everyone cares about baseball and the beloved red sox. It was great for that team, its fans and the city of Boston... not taking that away from them. But not everyone here cares about the rest of Massachetts teams. There is no wrong answer to personal opinion.

I can't put the 04 Sox win too high on my list - there were a lot of people that were more psyched that the Sox beat the Yankees than won the WS, and thus the Series as a whole (and then the victory thereafter) was kind of anticlimactic. I almost think putting 04 AL champs on the list instead of WS champs would be preferable to some people - their "championship" was beating the Yankees.

01 Pats - first pro title for the region in 15 years, and the definition of an underdog taking down a heavy favorite. Plus, the fact that the Pats - who were horrible-to-mediocre for so long - that won first added to the moment.
11 B's - that the B's were the last of the 4 teams to win a title added something to the victory, IMHO. Plus, anything that someone could say about the Sox in 04 could be applied to last year's B's win (1 year removed from a heartbreaking loss, having to go through a rival, etc) AS WELL AS the "underdog vs. heavy favorite" angle from the 01 Pats.
04 Sox
04 Pats
03 Pats
08 C's - and this isn't a "I'm a hockey guy so I have to hate basketball" seeding: it was just hard to really root for a group of aging mercenaries that had been on the team for such a short period of time.
07 Sox - Just an irrelevant title, compared to the others.

Hard to gauge the superbowl wins because winning a 7 game series is much more difficult than one game.
