I should also mention that as poor as the overall game has been for the Blues, their puck control and passing in their own end once they gain possession of the puck has been very, very good.

Let's just rename opponents PP's to "here have a free goal"

Hard to steal a game when your own team can't generate any real sustained offensive pressure/put the puck in the net.

The Blues, McDonald/D'Agostini/Steen aside are generally playing like ass. Very little urgency to their games, and certainly not keeping their feet moving.

As I type that, Berglund gets a penalty for exactly that, ironically.

Halak's generally been fine. He's certainly been better than the team in front of him tonight.

Finally.

C'mon, boys. Get another quick one before the period ends and this is a whole new game.

I just want one game where I can go, "well Halak played good" He just seems like he has so much trouble tracking the puck.

You know I am less worried about that trade and more worried about the contract we gave him off of 1 post season run. Its going to make him almost impossible to move imo. In a dream world we would trade him away this offseason and make a serious run at Rinne.

Even if Nashville is the odd man out in the re-allignement there's about 0% chance we could pry Rinne away from them.

Damn, we should start the third on the PP cause that hit was really late, hope McDonald is ok but this wake the Blues up a bit.

McDonald played the puck along the boards right as the horn was sounding and a Stars player (Fiddler?) gave him a knock into the boards and a shot to the face. Nikitin was somewhat in between them and got knocked into him a little bit as well. He got up after the ensuing scrum so it doesn't appear to be serious, but at the time I couldn't tell because he was down in front of the near boards.

This has been a frustrating and undisciplined effort so far, but I'm not gonna go jumping on Payne's back. It's Game 3. Now if it's 20 games into the season with a reasonably healthy squad and we're seeing this every other night, then I think the focus starts shifting to him.

That, and the first two games were very good efforts.

First road game can be tough. Let's see how the team responds in the third.
