GUY BOUCHER:
Quote:
  • "We haven't changed anything in our defensive zone coverage since Christmas, and after Christmas [last season] we were great at it. So it's just redoing everything again, getting it down to the details again. . . . In our zone it's not just about sorting it out because we have clips where everybody is in the right position but we are just tentative and they are able to get their shots."
BRUNO GERVAIS:
Quote:
  • "I'm sure it will be a little weird after spending my entire career there and in six years I made a lot of friends on and off the ice. It will be weird in the morning when we get there, but I know once the puck drops it's a hockey game and we will need those two points. …No matter what, you don't have any friends on the ice. It's a small league and you always play against a lot of friends every night, and it's the same thing, you need those two points. It will only be special when I dress up in the visiting locker room."
ADAM HALL:
Quote:
  • "It definitely is a process, and it starts here in the locker room to get the system down, getting all on the same page and knowing what we have to do on the ice, and the second part is execution. We have a few new guys, so it's getting to know each other, getting to communicate on the ice and getting to that point were it's second nature, where you don't hesitate and you just jump . . . it does take a little bit of time and our job is to make that time as short as possible."

LET'S GO BOLTS!

I didn't know Marty was from Wesley Chapel.

I will give Bobby 'The Chief' Taylor a crisp $1 dollar bill (American) if he clearly and distinctly refers to Travis Hamonic as Travis Shamone-ic.

Somehow, Al freaking Montoya is getting picked to play over RDP and Nabokov. I know he was strong down the stretch last year, but it's surprising they chose him to start this season too.

He's not been confirmed for tonight's game yet, however.

He will be the starter. http://twitter.com/#!/StapeNewsday/s...89437018193921

A 1.52 GAA and a .940 save percentage to start the season, the guy is picking up right where he left off!

Hoping for a good game and a solid 60 minutes effort. Let's end Montoya's hot streak!

Also, prepare for Tavares vs Stamkos threads on the main board...

If this happens I feel that both Islander and Lightning fans should troll those threads with nothing but compliments for each others player. For example "Stamkos has such a great shot...and beautiful eyes!"

Before last season, the kid more than likely lost hope that he would ever see NHL ice time. The Islanders then traded for him and gave him one last shot at his dream. He probably has the right mentality then, bust his ass off to make sure he makes the most of it.

Isles fans: "John who? I want Stammer"

Complete with NHL12 mockups of both in each others sweaters

I haven't directly read that Gervais will be in, but Gary Boucher would have to be handling this one if he didn't play him tonight.

Anytime you get a chance to stick it to the team who got rid of you, it acts as a bit of added motivation.

Mattias Ritola and Bruno Gervais to play tonight vs #NYIslanders while Gilroy, Jones and Pyatt will be scratched; Roloson will start in net

4 game set here with the Islanders and Panthers. No reason we shouldn't be able to pick up atleast 5-6 points.

Pretty sure they pronounced Örnsköldsvik wrong.

Did Ricky DeePee come puck from the puck to the head in practice the other day? That guy is so fragile.

Give 'em hell Bolts.

Think I'll wander to Willard's Taphouse to watch and enjoy some fine Oktoberfest beers and pumpkin ales tonight.

I know, right? The rest of the league got tired of it around 1994.
