What are the positives so far?

We knew this team would be a work in progess, but I had hoped to be able to see some things that were working. So far I'm not seeing anything to inspire hope.

I'm not bailing on this team no matter what. I will support them financially and emotionally no matter how bad they are, but I need some help to see what we've got to build on. Those of you with better hockey minds than I, please help me find the bright spots.

The Manitoba Polar Bears have a better record at 0-0.

#5 - Stuart... a bright spot on D

Slater-Thorburn... their energy has been noticed... they attack and generate chances.

overall... the biggest positive is having this team.

Pavelec really impressed me in the third against Chicago. I think he should have got the Phoenix game as it looks like he was starting to get into the zone.

Burmistrov looked good today. Unfortunately, not too many others did. Byfuglien showed skill down low, but was exposed as a defensive liability throughout the game.

They've shown bursts of great puck control in the offensive end (aka "time on attack").

Unfortunately we're not reaping the rewards of this because of trying to force it to the slot while there are tons of opposing team players there / poor shot selection.

I would like to see this as a shakeup:

Kane-Little-Byfuglien
Burmistrov-Slater-Schiefele
Glass-Thorburn-Wheeler
Cormier-Antropov-Wellwood

Enstrom-Hainsey
Jones-Stuart
Bogosian-Meech
No Ladd, Jones? Your off topic, this should go some where else.

Looking for positives, eh?...well, Bogosian doesn't have the 5th worst +/- in the entire league like he did last year.

Us, the fans, and definitely ownership.

Most of all, we get back on the NHL map. Oh, and Jet being a HF Jets moderator.

Negative? The team as a whole, but that will get better. Jet being a HF Jets moderator.

I don't remember the last time we were 0-3 and I was so friggen happy!

Seriously, if someone had asked you 8 months ago that you would have the Jets back and they would be 0-3 what would you say? I would have pissed my pants in happiness!

no joke - I'd really be ok if we end up with the first overall pick. preferably getting it by being just a few points worse than the 2nd worse team.

Nugnet-Hopkins scored a hatrick today. Just saying.

That it probably won't get much worse than this.

For today's game, my positive is that Scheif looked much, much more comfortable out there. He was right up in the mix on many occasions, and his increased ice-time versus last game reflects that.

I still agree with almost everyone that he should and will be sent back to Barrie for the year -- but it was a big positive for me to see him visibly improve in this game versus last. If he kept fading, I would have understood -- but lots of folks are pulling for this kid, myself included, and I'm thrilled to see him making clear strides and adjustments to the NHL in only a week.

Overall, this is going to be a season of patience, for sure. But I still rather love this team based on the intangibles (I'm a squishy compared to many people here, I'm fine with that) and I believe (perhaps foolishly) that they will click sooner or later. I have hopes for how they develop in future seasons, with some of the players we will have getting ready in the pipeline.

That's my positive, I guess. I had, and have, very low expectations of this team this year, so I'm just enjoying watching some of my faves show flashes of what they will be sooner or later.

The positive out of all this is that things can (and will) only get better.

And we won't have to hear that damn coyote howl for the rest of the season.
