I can understand Oklahoma back in the 80s running the Wishbone doing that. Or Navy. But in the NFL? ... how? I mean... seriously? Two completions?... and you still WIN?

Foxy was setting Tebow up to fail, and Tebow had none of it.

Speaking of the NFL, I called this 2 weeks ago on the football board and I'm reiterating it here: The San Francisco 49ers will make the Super Bowl out of the NFC. I won't go so far as to say they'll win yet, but I'm thinking their Week 15 matchup with Pittsburgh could be a Super Bowl preview.

Also, can I bring up the Lions again? They're fading, losing 3 of 4, and have a tough second half: Carolina, Green Bay, New Orleans, Minnesota, @Oakland, San Diego, @Green Bay. It's entirely possible that they go 3-4 there and finish up 9-7.

I think we're over due for an Oakland//SF Super bowl. It's happened in MLB enough haha =)

With the all-star game voting opening up, we should start an all-star game campaign for someone.

Stupid question, but has anyone else had issues in NHL12 where if you max your assisstant coach in GM mode, it makes the game almost unplayable because your players all get wayyy too good, even veterans with C potentials? I'm 6 seasons in and Cam Ward and Eric Staal are both 95 overall and when I reisgned them, both wanted almost 12m a season. Something like 90% of my cap is tied up in Staal, Ward, Ruutu, Jokinen, Skinner and Pitkanen.

Nope... I've only played like 3 seasons so far but I resigned a Taylor Hall with 92 overall for like $6 million... You're just a bad negotiator

Worst. Experience. Ever.

Built a dynasty without realizing I had the salary off (but without exploiting it), then realized it was all for naught as I could've just signed every big name free agent I wanted. It's not worth it.

Now, for the serious news of the day:

Quote:
GREENVILLE, N.C. — East Carolina University was locked down for about three hours Wednesday after people reported seeing a man with an assault rifle walking casually on a main thoroughfare near the Greenville campus.

The item the man was carrying was, in fact, an umbrella.
Stay safe, ECU. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this terrifying ordeal.

The police looked over the video from the street cameras and confirmed there was an assault rifle on campus.

Still, better safe than sorry.

Everything I've seen has stated it was just an umbrella and there was never an assault rifle. So I'm gonna have to see a police report here, or it didn't happen

There's better safe than sorry, and then there's locking down a campus for 3 hours, scaring the **** out of everybody, wasting valuable resources, and chasing phantom people based on Twitter/Facebook information. I think this is a valuable lesson in terms of the hysteria that social media can create based on a rumor.

I don't see how you expected them to handle it. If they received information that someone may have an assault rifle on campus, it's their job to keep everyone safe and out of possible harm until they can confirm or deny the existence of a weapon.

Again, better to shutdown the campus for 3 hours over nothing than not shut it down and have something happen.

On a positive note, I was able to get tickets to the Roger Waters "The Wall-Live" concert at the RBC in July, so at least I'll be enjoying something in the RBC after early April.

I posted this in the something positive thread but I'll post it here too.

For my concert with the Duke Wind Symphony tonight we're going to be streaming live:

It should be available a bit before 8PM.

Same here, as a life long Pink Floyd fan I can't wait. I've seen several cover bands but to be able to finally see an actual Pink Floyd member is awesome. Wish it was Gilmour though

Tebow is terrible, Don't understand how ppl can't stop him. He can't throw so just gotta contain his legs. I already came up with a defensive scheme to stop him. 2 downed linemen, 6 line backers and 3 safeties playing zone coverage 20 yards back. I call it the "Te-BAD" defence. Or the other obvious option would be to go up by 2 scored early on, as he clearly plays comparable to me for 55 minutes before getting his one decent 95 yard TD at the end of the game.

Also, Iowa State are rockstars for knocking off the Cowboys. Ya'll have no idea how much I hope Houston gets a BCS title shot haha

Brought back memories of an unranked Pitt squad denying WVU a spot in the National Championship Game. 13-9...

So NC State curbstomps #7 in the nation Clemson to keep their dreams of postseason play alive, and there are no posts about it?

I am disappointed.
