When has Scheifele's skating been a problem? His skating isn't pretty, but let's hear some details.

When he's tried to move up ice.

yeah, what message exactly....telling his best forward after playing a grand total of 6 minutes of NHL hockey under him that he's benched because he wasn't good enough?

or telling your fragile 18 year old that you had better learn to play with stiffs or your out?...and then benching him in the third period of a close game?....i fail to see the message.

they should send scheifele down...so he can develop under a coach who will treat him properly.

why does he need to be fast?...not every player is fast...he looks to have pretty good hands, sees the ice well and is good positionally.

maybe not but they are still kids that need to be handled properly....i fail to see how benching your best player after 6 minutes on the ice or your youngest player after lining him with duds is a good coaching decision.

noel is a minor league coach...he is on trial just like sheif is.

What really gets me is that with all the draft picks in the 2-7 rounds the Thrashers really had little when the team needs to be taking guys like MacLean, Glass, Wellwood and for even a guy like Stapleton to be sticking around. What exactly were management and scouting doing over the years.

They were only a goal away from tying the game -- a goal they came close to scoring -- and they seemed to gel more in the third period. Special teams weren't bad. Pavelec looked sharp after the midpoint. But the first two periods seemed to be every man for himself.

at least trying to think positive we stand a chance at our record books saying our first win in jets 2.0 history is against our old franchise.

have they given us reason not to complain...a blowout and then a blown 2-0 lead for a loss.

the 'just glad to have a team' is over....now they deserve criticism when they play poorly.

Minutes aren't given to you, they are EARNED. Scheifele didn't earn more then nine minutes tonight.

His skating isn't up to NHL standards. And I don't just mean his speed. He isn't strong enough on the puck yet and he can't make up for that with his vision or hands. The game right now is a little too fast for him. The only time where he would be useful is on the PP where he has time and space to work.

He still has up to 7 more games. We'll see if he can make some improvements.

I see, and thats based on how much game film? Hmm I am pretty sure both those guys were able to play well because they have great hands and vision. For some reason Scheifele is incapable even though he was a much higher draft pick. Maybe we drafted the wrong guy.

noel is a minor league coach....im not saying he is a bad coach at this level...too early to tell that.....but having spent 9 years as a head coach in the A/IHL and 26 games in the NHL defines you as a minor league coach.

he deserves time to prove himself, but in two games, i see a lot of things i disagree with.

The message is, I don't care what your salary is. You have to play hard to get the minutes.

You are not going to play under the radar in Winnipeg.

The 4th line is getting the ice time cause they are working hard. The rest of the team needs to play with the drive of the 4th line.

Noel has done a great job with young players in the past. He is trying to get that workman attitude instilled in all his players.

its pretty common NHL wisdom that you dont play skilled young draft picks with 4th liners to start their career.....you either play them on the second line or you send them back to junior.

i thought he played well in the first game....when he had help.

I'm in complete agreement with your statement Duke!

Some of the comments on Burmistrov are a little much, he hasn't proven anything in the NHL yet (6 goals in 76 NHL games so far) he plays well defensively but his offense hasn't dazzled me yet.
