AP: Cam to Springfield, Giroux up

Per Twitter: Aportzline Aaron Portzline
#CBJ sending Cam Atkinson to Springfield.

Not liking this move as much... he is a cannon ball out there. He'll be back tough

So the problem with the jackets not winning is Cam Atkinson.

Of all the guys to send down. Honestly, I would have sent the "veteran" Calvert down first. Who is coming up?

Of all the moves, this wasn't the one I saw coming. Prelim move for that trade based on all the scouts last night... Need that roster spot! :p

I don't know what they are looking at or what they are thinking. Maybe it's just to have less options to get Ryan in games. Don't know.

Maybe it's just that leading the team as a -4 isn't earning you any friends on the coaching staff. He has gambled a bit and not always in a good way.

Aha! Actually I didn't (oh yet, it's all about me!)... However, this move doesn't bother me all that much. We're trying to figure out ice time, he didn't exactly tear it up yep. I didn't really see him click with anyone other than maybe DM. As I mentioned before maybe it gives Ryan some more ice time.

Cam is very raw and he'll be back. Polish up that game.

Yeah I'm not liking this move either. The kid did his best to be all over the puck. I thought he was the one thing that was working. But yeah I'm guessing it was to free up TOI for RyJo, since we're kind of painted into a corner with him.

Either someone is coming up, coming off of IR, or a trade is happening...

I know the kid brought energy to the lineup, but I don't think physically he was ready for the NHL...he'll be back up this year, i'm sure

According to Portzline, no Brassard at morning skate.

If they're going to make a trade, please send Vermette and not Brassard. Brassard is still kinda young and can still be a very good No. 2 center. Vermette really doesn't have much of a place left especially if Johansen sticks. And considering he played pretty well last night, he might be staying out of Portland the rest of the season (I hope).

Carter's fighting the flu bug, so there's some insight as to why he's not skating this morning. As for Brassard; who knows. For all we know, he could have the flu as well.

Based on what? Potential? I'm tired of waiting on young BJ players with potential to produce. He's awful in the circle. Vermy wins faceoffs. Other teams bring up their kids & they eventually produce. Brass - we're still waiting.

Carter has the flu, no surprise he's not at the skate. But no Brassard, Atkinson down to the AHL, that really points to a move being made, unless Brassard is out for another reason. I'm sure AP will let us know ASAP...

Didn't see this coming and I am a bit confused. I'll wait to see what's going on behind the scene's. Don't like the direction this team is heading in so soon in the season and I wonder what management is thinking/have planned right now.

More Portzline:
"#CBJ will recall a player from AHL Springfield later today. They're looking for a different element in bottom 6. Guess here is RW Cody Bass."

Anyone think Brass got banged up on the BS "Diving" Call last night? He played the rest of the game but kinda disappeared after that... what a crap call that was too...
