Now some will say its early in the season. The Hawks have new players, blah, blah, blah. Excuses are like A-... Everyones got one.

Now a real team comes to town. The game is at the UC. Home ice advantage.

Nothing prevented Philadelphia beating the Bruins in their home opener at Boston no less. Flyers lost Richards and Carter in the offseason, got back Jagr and Voracek. New players BTW for them so I dont want to hear this new player excuse.

Hawks have played just well enough to only win 2 games against limited talented teams so far. Is it a case that they play to the opposing teams talent level? Now a good effort may satisfy some fans. Sorry but losing is not an option.
Dallas is 3-1 this year with their one loss coming to the Hawks. They may not be as bad as I think we all originally thought.

Ehhh. That team is not making the playoffs. They've started well, though.

I think physically we should be ok however we cannot afford to start like we did against Jets, and in the nets, CC needs to at least be the equal of TT. Great matchup there. Toews and Bolland will be tested.

Defensively, I think the Hawks must key on 3 players to take this game:

1/ Chara - must not be allowed to unleash from the point. This could prove to be a challenge considering our dismal ability to stop any team from teeing up shots, especially on the PP.

2/ Marchand - This kid is already one of the best muckers in the NHL, with a knack for getting key goals. He must be checked closely.

3/ Tyler - improving at a rapid pace and is arguably their best offensive weapon at 20 years old.. or is he 21. Scary, his potential.

Seguin is 19, turns 20 in January. He's looked much more confident and involved so far. At times he looked downright lost last year, but has looked really good his first 4 games, will be centering Lucic and Horton tommorow as Krejci is hurt. Forget hangover Lucic appears to be in an alcohol induced coma, Horton very in and out. Sluggish start for the B's, they haven't been playing very phsical which is a key for them to have success. I hope they can ramp it up against the Hawks otherwise it will be a long night, Hawks are strong. Enjoy the game.

This should be a great game. Bruins have always been one of my favorite teams coming out of the east.

And I love how they crushed Vancouver's Cup chances last year. Oh man that was sweet.

I'm sorry, I love me some Steve, he's a good guy, but... his "handling" of fights usually entails being a punching bag.

Due credit, he's willing.

I think we will have our first shootout. If it goes to a shootout these are my three guys and I will go 5 deep just because I'm bored.

1. Toews
2. Kane
3. Sharp
4. Bolland
5. Stalberg (yeah he is very good in shootouts)

Frolik is above Hossa
Hossa not great in shootouts

Should be a fun game to watch. Two teams with some young talent.

Krejci being out may or may not be a bad thing for the B's--the first line had struggled, and the insertion of Seguin may yet cause a spark. He had a sick snipe last game, and he's showing that he's...amazing. Such a strong camp and first few games for him.

In terms of the B's record, it might be slightly deceptive. I feel that they've had some terrible luck with puck bounces. They've been in front of the net mucking, and doing a lot of good things, but the goals haven't come yet. The power play situation is discouraging, however. 1-18 (off the top of my head--may be inaccurate) is just absolutely pathetic. If the Hawks stay in the box then it's definitely their game to lose! ;-)

Have fun, guys--always love watching your team.

Have a good game guys, Blackhawks are one of my favorite teams in the West. I think we'll see a shootout, Hawks win 5-4. Hopefully the B's can prove me wrong though, haven't been too encouraged as of yet.

It'll be fun watching the two previous champs, hope all the same goes to you.

Hawks and Bee's fans get along well. We both have respect for eachother and have a mutual hate for the Canucks. That, and we are O6 teams playing in different conferences so there's nothing but love for all but the one night we do play eachother.

Here's to a good one.

If Stalberg does return, it would be interesting to see how Q puts his lines together. If I were him, I wouldn't touch the top 9 from Wednesday's game.

The true depth that we have is going to give Q an awesome problem to have in making his nightly lineups. The one constant I want to see is that checking line sticking together.

I've already been to the first two games of the season, but I might be at this one if my contact comes through with a ticket.

I think Stalberg would be replacing Olesz on the 4th line. Can't see the top 9 being changed.

Well said....all the other Original 6 teams I don't care for at all. A little bit of love goes for the Rangers though as alot of former Hawks got Cup rings back in 94.. Larmer, Matteau, Noonan even Mike Keenan as well, plus they to took a Stanley Cup away from the Nucks. Vancouver actually has quite a bit of trouble with Original 6 teams.

94 lost SCF'S to Rangers
95 lost in the 2nd round to Hawks
02 lost to the Wings 1st round
09, 10, 11 all lost to Hawks/Bruins

As for tomorrow's game..I see a goalie battle between Crawdaddy and TT...2-1 for the Indianhead in the SO.

Hopefully the Hawks don't get shutout again this year. Should be a lot of chirping.

will be fun to watch.

I really respect the Bs and their Fans. My Favorites in the East.

Stalberg should play for Olesz if possible

Hey all, I got to make the GDT for this game and I was pretty excited and felt honored being that it's the hawks we're playing. Check it out if you want! I'm hoping the bruins can snap their slump tonight but hopefully its at least a good game with zero injuries. Enjoy!

From last year:

"If I'm in the lineup [next time Thornton faces the Blackhawks], he's more than welcome to come chirp at me. I'll kick the [expletive] out of him," enforcer John Scott said on Thursday, according to ChicagoBreakingSports.com.

Good luck, to my second favorite team.

I freaking hate the Canucks so much, I now realize how you guys feel.

Hoping for a good game from Kaner and Tazor.

Hopefully Seguin keeps getting better.

And howabout a couple of nice fights!!!!!

Good luck guys
