Morrow

Brad Boyes and Tyler Ennis
for
Brendan Morrow and Perttu Lindgren

lines
Vanek-Adam-Poms
Morrow-Leino-Stafford
Hecht-Roy-Kaleta
Gerbe-Goose-McCormick

is it too early for unrealistic trade threads (the unrealistic part being Dallas trading Morrow)

Love it. Adds a little sandpaper to our top 6. Ennis, while a great player with a ton of potential, is expendable. Boyes will be Boyes.

I have no idea who that prospect is, but I'm leaning yes.

What's Lindgren's story? I'm not too hot on moving a capable top 9 winger and a young high-potential top 6 winger for two or three years of good play.

Replace Ennis with a 1st Round Draft Pick in 2012.

Ennis isn't going anywhere, he's a keeper and a big part of the Sabres future with Kassian and Armia on the Wings.

Switch the prospect and I'd definitely consider it. But from what I've read Lindgren will remain in Europe for the foreseeable future and he's already 24 years old. Odds are we wouldn't see him on the Sabres ever (correct me if I'm wrong). Like REP said, I don't really want to do it for 2-3 good years from Morrow. If the prospect has the chance to turn into something, then I'd probably pull the trigger.

Edit: Ennis can definitely be traded if it's for the right price. I wouldn't be actively trying to move him but if the right offer came along I'd do it. He's certainly not untouchable.

No thanks. If Darcy (apparrently) wouldn't add Ennis for Spezza, he won't do it for Morrow.

Lindgren is a fringe prospect. Some say he doesn't have the style to succeed in the North American game. He's a pure center, and would at best remind you of Tim Connolly at times.

He's playing in the same league as Armia, and with Leino here, and the talent they are developing in Finland these days... maybe a small finnish movement would be something to look at.

Honestly he was just a throw in

I'd rather have Morrow in a 7 game playoff series....

With Vanek and Pominville and Stafford all locked up long term on the wings, along with Leino potentially being a winger again someday and Gerbe showing he's got what it takes.... AS WELL AS Kassian, Armia on the way.... that's exactly why Ennis is tradeable
Flash and Glimmer is nice in an 82 game season.... players like Morrow are what we need more of to win in the 16-28 game season

I'd rather have flash and glimmer for 15 years than grit and hustle for two.

Dallas has no reason to trade Morrow. They are at the cap floor, he's their captain.

Maybe Shane Doan?

Doan for our 2012 1st + a prospect.

^I added a prospect because the Sens got only a 1st for Fisher, but Doan is a UFA so I dunno.

they're also going to be one of the worst teams in the west for this season and the foreseeable future. if they're gonna start retooling the roster, now is the best time to do it.

hard to see how it's possible given the current cap situation, but it would be nice to nab robidas as part of a deal as well. the guy is as tough as nails and plays a very solid all around game...he'd be extremely valuable come playoff time

ewwwww....man that's a good one. I love me some Morrow. He plays the kind of hockey I like to watch. Ennis though...ouch...but yeah I think I would do that.

This is interesting. I thought of Ennis for Doan the other day but I figured it wouldn't work salary wise.

Dropping Boyes in the same deal makes it possible and interesting. Morrow/Doan are the same player.

Even if it effects your on field product every sports team needs a player to sell merch.

Morrow is great, but I'm not ready to let go of Ennis. I still think he has potential to be an elite scorer for many years. He's 10 years younger than Morrow. Ennis' offensive up-side and creativity don't come along every day. He's one of the only players we have that can create scoring opportunities from nothing. I know you equate him to Afinogenov, but I think he will likely turn into a much better player than that. Also, I don't think we've been playing like a team lacking grit -- except for Boyes.

The even more unrealistic part is some message board poster's trade proposal ever coming to fruition.

Who wouldn't love to have Morrow? It's a big time reach, and likely one of the cases where their demands wouldn't allow us to even come close to a deal agreeable on both sides.
