how do you get up so high? Just go months without spending? I'm at 2500/win in league games, and about 12k/winning the league, what level are you at, and what do you get for wins?
Takes a few days. I have to be at work by 7 am. Waking up is miserable so i wake myself up by using whatever tickets accumulated during the night/ from gifts. That covers 5-7 games. I am at like season 130 something and get 3025 per game. When i get home from work I'll do the same thing. Later at night I'll do the same thing again. That plus the three games you get playing friends and I get 13,000 from a completed season so I get about 60,000 per day. Then Ive refused to spend which was tough. I'll buy a 10,000 pack every so often or spend 8,000 on the 1 goal coach. I'm at 940,000 today i think so I'm ooohhhh so close.
So I've done the math. There are 1488 player cards in this game.
I currently own 948. So I have 540 players to go... Seeing as how I get an average of 3 per pack (right now I'm working on the level 3 packs), I have another 180 packs to buy.
Assuming the packs I buy to get those players (and that's a bad assumption) break down like so:
30 - level 3 @$45,000 each - $1.35 million
30 - level 4 @$100,000 each - $3 million
30 - level 5 @$150,000 each - $4.5 million
I have to spend around ~$8million to collect the whole set.
I make probably around $40k/day on average so it'll take me 200 days to collect the whole set.

Some good news and some bad news:
The good news: Once you start completing collections, there's a nice cash bounty for trading them in that will be a big help in pushing forward. At some point you'll get the "domino effect" where the cash you get from completing one collection is enough to get you the next one completed, and so on for about 8-12 teams or so. That part is a lot of fun.
The bad news: You will not be getting 3x non-dupes the whole way - that will dry up fast and there will be a long stretch where you'll get just 1 per pack, so chances are your 8mil estimate is low by a lot.
One thing you can do, is to move up to 4* packs a little early - once the 3* are consistently providing only 1 non-dupe. As long as you are averaging at least 2 non-dupes per 4* pack during that stretch, you're outperforming the 3*s. Plus you'll be diminishing the remaining pool of 3* cards along the way.

I wouldn't do it as early as 2 non-dupes. You'd need 4 consistently from the 4* to make that pay off, and that's a tall order. Considering the massive overlap between tiers, you may well get only 2 (or 1!) non-dupes and they both might be in 3* range.
If you search "Ultimate Collector App" on fb there's a group that you can join which has a program that tracks all your collected cards and how much each new card will cost. It also shows you how many more cards you have left to collect in each pack range and how much it will cost for you to complete your entire set. Really helpful program.
I just discovered that when you start a new practice before the "practice complete" box pops up, the box reads: "OMG! FULL DOUBLE RAINBOW ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SKY! STARTING TO LOOK LIKE A TRIPLE RAINBOW!"

I'm starting to take a bit of a different strategy in my card collecting though. Mostly buying lower level packs until I have bronze covered across the board, and gradually work my way up from there. I generally get a ******** of contracts out of it so using those to keep my LE cards fresh keeps the rating high.

This is what I'm doing presently. I've got about 70 more silver cards to collect then I'll stop buying those and start buying gold packs.
Still working my way from the bottom up. 18 more silver cards to collect, then on to the golds.
I've only managed to get up to 98 overall and that's with some LE players in the lineup. I hope when I start buying gold packs, I fill out the rest of my LE cards.
3 Bruins away from completing the pack. Thomas, Horton and McDonald. It's frustrating buying 150,000 packs and not getting them or getting duplicates of cards
