NBA Board Approves Sale of 76ers

Comcast-Spectacor, which also owns the Flyers, will continue to own the Wells Fargo Center, of which the Sixers will remain tenants. Comcast SportsNet also has the television rights through 2029.

Fancy that.

So, I ran over a slug the other day. It was kind of gross.

Down in the basement, I've got a Craftsman lathe. Show it to the children when they misbehave.

Sweet deal. For $280M you get a team:

-locked into a TV contract controlled by the seller

-locked into a lease from a building controlled by the seller

-locked into a team that has players locked into contracts created by the seller

-and a disinterested fanbase (maybe even moreso with a lockout)

I can't believe that only cost 280M.

They were showing serious signs of life for the first time in the post-Iverson era. I was genuinely looking forward to '11-'12. : /

My mom married an ex-nba practice squad member, and as big as Basketball is in the ancestrial manor, i honestly can't make myself give a damn.

In all fairness, if they were competetive, i'd watch MORE, but i still wouldn't give a damn. Really the only basketball player i care for is Kevin Durant.

I'd care more if it was competitive. It was refreshing last year to see teams like Memphis and OKC go far. German Moses finally getting over the top. However, it sucks as a league when you go into a season and you know that there's basically only 4 or 5 teams who even have a prayer of winning the title.

Basketball if the only one of the four major sports I don't care one bit about. I don't even know if I could get into it if the Sixers made a run at the championship.
