I would like to see the replay after going through a couple "stomp" situations ourselves.

Was during the third period by a skate from a Sharks player I believe. Didn't see it myself (at work) but some are saying it could have been on purpose.. I haven't seen a video yet. Hopefully someone can link us to one when it comes up.

I saw the replay in the post game show, didn't look intentional to me.

Found a video. Doesn't look intention but still bad. Looks like the SJ player went to kick the puck and missed, and then his skate slid across his arm.

I really hate injuries involving skate blades. I hope he is okay.

I don't know... I really don't see how he would have "overkicked" that much when the puck was just half a step away. It looked to me like he was trying to get his arm out of the way. Does that mean he wanted to slit his wrist and give him an injury? No. But I still believe that he was trying to prevent Blake from getting the puck rather than playing the puck. Either way, that's hard to watch.

I'm just going to assume he was kicking at the puck and unfortunately hit Blake's arm instead.

But still, that's a stupid play to make. He obviously saw Blake on the ice just a few inches from the puck. Kicking at the puck when a guy's laying less than a foot away is a really bad idea.

Hopefully there's minimal muscle/ligament/tendon damage or he could be out for a while.

It doesn't look intentional. But many head hits you could argue aren't either. He injured a player in (this is one of Shanny's favorite terms) a vulnerable position. In a fair world, Burns would get punished, but I don't know if it'll happen.

To those saying it was intentional... that's a pretty instinctual play for player to make. You learn to use your skates in handling the puck, and it just becomes second nature. It's not something you think about. It's no different than grabbing the puck out of midair with your glove, and dropping it to the ice.

I'm not saying it wasn't dangerous, but I can pretty much guarantee he wasn't thinking about it at the time. The puck was there, and his body reacted.

If it's "minimal", he wouldn't be in surgery right now. That only happens in severe cases.

Wasn't saying it wasn't. Just have a problem with the fact that you see a player on the ice and yet are still kicking out with your skate. Bobby had to pay for his "instinctual" hockey play and there was no injury.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like seeing a player do that with Blake on the ice like that. I wouldn't dislike it any less if the roles had been reversed either. It comes across as completely reckless. I understand that. It's just one of those things that, as a player, you don't think about. You're focused on the puck, and you're reacting to the play, and... well, someone winds up in the hospital. :/

Nothing about a play like this feels right. Right now I just hope Blake is okay. That video looked really bad.

Key thing with Blake is now is stopping blood flow and determining how deep cut is. Club spokesman said no word yet if surgery is needed.

In AFL that would be called a dangerous play, and can be punishable.

Wasn't a player suspended earlier for irresponsible use of the stick? Could this fall in the same category but with a skate?

This is Blake's last year - who will take over his winger role.
Lupul would fit in great there.
