I think Schneider got the start against the Wings because AV and Co wanted to give him his first start in his home state. At least I don't think Schneider has started in Detroit before.

Hoping for a huge win tonight. It would be awesome to watch the Canucks win after seeing my first IceCaps game live tonight.

I'm being more tentative and say 2-2 to a shootout where we once again... lose.
It's all fine and dandy to play solid simple defense against the likes of Higgins and Samuelsson but you've actually got to have defensive skills to play against the Sedins.

Hall-Nugent-Hopkins-Eberle

A four forwards line? Interesting tactic.

Watching TSN's Ice Chips game preview and wow what a Taylor Hall / RNH love fest for the first 3 minutes. Followed by a bunch of cliche comments from Luongo and a quick burp from Hodgson.

It's going to be a long season for national broadcasts listening to all the hoopla over RNH and Hall.

lol last year all these other teams had to listen to hoopla about how the Canucks were so awesome. Why do you think we got so much hate?

The last time October 15th was a Thursday was 2009 and the next time it will be is 2015, either really late GDT or really early.

Be nice to see the team start the game with some intensity and not forfeit the first goal of the game for the first time this year.

Smyth and Horcoff are 3rd liners now? Wow is that the most overpaid 3rd line in the league?

I think we all need to take a pause and remember...this is an Oilers team with Darcy Hordichuk, who has said he is going to "abuse the Sedins". We could be in trouble.

@kurtenblog: Hordichuk to Canucks: "I'm going to abuse the Sedins." Canucks to Hordichuk: "Promise to be on the ice when the Sedins are out there?"

Hordichuk really doesn't know when to shut up. It's quite sad really.

Is that an actual not taken out of context quote?

Doesn't that border on a threat? SHould Shanahan issue a warning?

If he does ANYTHING that would warrant a suspension tonight it could probably be used against him in a hearing. But its just Hordi being Hordi...his bark is far worse than his bite.

I want Hordichuk on the ice against the Sedins as much as possible. PLEASE. I'm begging you, Tom Renney.

Seriously, I bet Daniel could even fight Hordi and beat him at his own game.
Useless... except when Marty Turco is on the ice

Vigneault is looking to have Hodgson step up his offence with Higgins and Samuelsson on the wings and Malhotra and Lapierre handling the defensive centre duties.

And on the second line, Cody Hodgson was thrilled to learn he’ll be playing again with Chris Higgins. He really believes he meshes well with Higgins. But Janik Hansen is off their line and Mikael Samuelsson is on.

The best news for Hodgson is that both Manny Malhotra and Max Lapierre are centring lines. It should mean Hodgson has to worry less about defence.

“We’re giving Cody an opportunity to see if he can step up in one of those offensive roles,” Vigneault said.

Canucks lineup shuffle for tonight:

Daniel Sedin-Henrik Sedin-Alex Burrows
Chris Higgins-Cody Hodgson-Mikael Samuelsson
Marco Sturm-Manny Malhotra-Jannik Hansen
Aaron Volpatti-Max Lapierre-Dale Weise

Kevin Bieksa-Dan Hamhuis
Alex Edler-Keith Ballard
Sami Salo-Andrew Albert

Damn probably can't watch the game tonight, hope we crush them. And screw the Sabres board... they have the worst GDTs, absolutely nothing about team line ups

He is a troll.

He only posts to infuriate others. I suspect the problem could be maternal in nature. Perhaps rejected as the runt of the litter.

Stop feeding him, much like mommy did, and he will go away.

If people don't like reading Abaddon's post then IGNORE HIM. There is a reason the function exists! I did and don't have to deal with the little comments.... it doesn't help when everyone is quoting him though.

Meh, doesn't have the same ring to it.

And if thats the kind of sticks Edler is using then I really don't like it.
