Lucky gopher shirt avoids the wash again!!! But what is it with Minnesota and empty nets? A full 3 minutes and you can't score?

Hey look at that, the Gophers get their revenge.

Now we get to see if the Bulldogs also get a ticket to Tampa.

The Gophers had an absolute meltdown against UND in the Final Five, but they played very well today. The TV guys should probably never call another game again though, they were just horrible to listen to.

College hockey needs to be promoted more. But it seems like the only college sports anyone gives a damn about are football and basketball.

Problem is you can play football and basketball basically anywhere across the country where you mostly only see hockey rinks in traditional hockey markets thus there being a smaller amount of fans.

Inline hockey would be a good way to promote the game in nontraditional markets.

It's pretty big in the south. I lived in texas for a year and a lot more people played that than ice hockey

There is still a large talent gap. I was in 8th grade... Was a 3rd/4th liner in superior... Became a standout in houston.

The in-line hockey promotes a lot of head-down skating. You could always spot the inline players... Fast, creative, but they got llit up.

Also, another thing I forgot to mention, there's not enough scoring in hockey to keep people interested. In basketball and football, you see a lot of scores, in hockey, you just don't see nearly as many points being scored which the general public loves scoring, hockey also suffers in this regard.

It's too bad because there's nothing like seeing a goal go in for your team. It's a rush that's tough to describe.

Talent gaps will close if people just play the game and get programs started in highschools and the like.

Obviously. Take soccer, hockey, and basketball. Its blatant that the bigger the net the smaller the scores.

But that rush that you feel, if you saw your team score more often, you wouldn't get too much of a rush anymore. It'd be common place and turn into basket ball.

There are similar rushes in Basketball, but not the instant kind. The rushes in Basketball come from watching your team go on a run where your offense just keeps scoring and your defense just shuts down the other team. It builds over time, but it does happen at times. It was not enough for me tho, as I long since gave up on basketball, but it did provide some excitement back when I was into it.

But nothing can compare to a goal in hockey. Nothing at all.
