if this is how he plays on a regular basis, he'll be much better than a 30-40pt player...
after tonight he's on pace for 30+pts, and that's with almost no pp time & playing <15min/game.
once we have him playing 18-20min with PP time, Eller will be a 60+pt guy. Book it.
I see him more as a 2nd line 2-way centre with 50ish points. 60+ points is what Plekanec gets playing 20 minutes on a first line and I don't think Eller will be as good as Pleky.

i'd be willing to bet that by 28-29, Eller is as good as/or better than Pleks... and I am a huge fan of Pleks.
let's not forget that Pleks didn't crack the habs lineup until he was 24, and then he gradually progressed into the 60-70pt player we now have, thanks largely to having an excellent work ethic.
Eller is more physically gifted (bigger, stronger frame, not quite as fast but just as good a skater), all indications are that he similarly has a killer work ethic, and will have that much more NHL experience under his belt by his mid-late 20's.

He's also already a much better playmaker than pleks was, and has shown really good vision. I think Eller will be better offensively than pleks. Defensively, it's hard to be better, but he's no slouch.
Haha. Eller is a middle class big talented good Hilfiger boy; no way he'll ever be a thug ! I mean he's from the Royal Navy from her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth : he's no Pirate. I'm just saying, I'm a fan of him, but I try to be critical.
BTW, watching the CBC show, from the Internet site of CBC, later at night, being used to RDS, having that dumb Bruins groupie girl and those Boston flavored comentators... WTF ! It makes me think we are the Raiders of Hockey... us against the world.

Eller loos to be coming into his own for sure, he's gotta work on his release though, I find he often makes that one extra dangle that isn't always required.
When he missed the open tap in in front of the net, I think his eyes opened up and he got a tad excited. I'm not worried, I guy with his talent will eventually find the back of the net.
This guy is....wow. I mean...wow. Just one thing I'd like to see different is simplifying his game in our end. But once he does that. WOOOOWWWWWW!!!! The hands on this guy. And he works his ass off too. And he's young as hell. This is whiccket. Pierre Gauthier at the time this deal was made, I felt ripped off. I now applaud you, and question your judgement no more.
Although I like what I see of eller I can't help but think of bulis. He looked great, good skater lots of skill but somehow could never connect. The lack of finish worries me,
what probably nags me about him, like someone mentioned, is his lack of finish. hopefully it'll come soon although he'll never have problem racking up the assists. regardless, im a huge fan and couldn't be happier that as of yesterday, seemed to have made gomez irrelevant
hey, in a year or two, this could be gauthier's best trade.
Looking at Halak struggling and Eliott taking is place in St-Louis and that fat contract of his, it's already a great trade...and people were freaking out when it happened
