Lars Eller Appreciation Thread

So I didn't see anything on Mr. Eller, so I figured I would make a appreciation thread on him. I know it may be a bit premature, but I feel he has been one of our best forwards since he cam back from his shoulder injury. He is playing like a boss out there and playing well defensively. I feel and I'm sure most people on here feel that he will only get better with each game, so this is why I made this thread too.

Lars Eller Hustles Hard!

There was a whole lot of appreciating going on in the "Countdown until Eller becomes a thug" thread, which is on the front page of this board, but I guess the lovefest can continue here...

Pleks 2.0 in a few years. Book it. People will say the Halak deal was a steall.

I though that he had a weak shot, but he seemed to have improved it a lot. He has a good wrist shot!
The Halak/Eller trade is already very good for the Habs.

This is the kind of player that I would like the organisation to give him a long term contract.
I wonder how much he could get per year for a long term contract (5 years?).
I think it would be great for us. Same thing for Pacioretty.

What do you think about giving long term contracts to some of our young players?
I think that it is less a guess than some contracts we gave for old veterans...

I dont think so....Eller's personality is to outgoing for him to simply seclude himelf and just be content with what he is doing. You can tell this kid is super talented and is slowly realizing he has his place on this team. I think its all about confidence. He knows he can make the dangle and tipsy toe arround D's but is just getting used to the fact that he will be the center of attention if he does that. AK on the other hand doesnt seem to want to be the center of attention...ever....and its definetly holding him back.

CTV's Brian Wilde mentioned that for anyone who's watched him during practice this season, that lethal wrist shot goal should come as no surprise.

America's Most Wanted's John Walsh also commented on Eller's shooting ability

There's no room for all the Danish players
Regin and Nielsen are from my home town, so they have a special place! But given Regins problem with injuries, i might consider a replacement

I remember PG mentioned that he had a hard shot when the trade happened, but I think we didn't get to see it much last year because he had a hard time adjusting to the NHL IMO, I remember last year, it felt like a lot of his shots were deflected by the D-men stick. But all in all, man do I love this guy, I think he is going to develop slowly offensively, but with the way he plays D we can offered to take our time with him.

LOL awesome. I love how we have a Danish and Swiss community on our habs board now a days cause of the Swiss Connection and of course Eller.

I bet we'll be seeing a lot more scouting in Denmark and Switzerland in the coming years.

Sounds like a guy I remember from a couple years back. His name? Tomas Plekanec.

Is it me or this is pure contradiction?

«Il ne m'a pas prouvé jusqu'à maintenant qu'il peut amasser des points en masse, a affirmé Martin, mardi. Nous voulons qu'il continue à se concentrer sur son jeu en défense et, s'il s'applique dans sa zone, les occasions vont se présenter à l'attaque.» - J. Martin on Lars Eller's play.

http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/329320.html

My french-english traduction:

"He hasn't proved me that he can land a handful of points yet, has said Martin, Tuesday. We want him to continue to concentrate his defensive game play, and if he dominate's in his own zone, the offensive occasions will be there for him to grab."

In other words:

"He hasn't put the numbers on the board yet, but since he's a young 3rd center, he needs to concentrate on good defensive hockey & then I will give him the chance to get offensive time on the PP!"

The only way to not view it as contradiction is if you remove the politician discours...& IF Lars Eller plays well enough for J. Martin, ie: be a defensive minded stud or be another Darche/Pyatt 2.0... (Btw Lars, he likes when someone tell him he has nice ears & tell him nice stories before going to bed!)

if he had any scoring abilities, he could easily have 5 goals this year by now, if not more.

Love the way he plays, just wish he could bury those chances around the net.

I saw an earlier post saying Marian Hossa#2.
I hate doing this, but when you look at Eller, you cant help but think of Mikko Koivu when he first came to the NHL. I am not saying he will have as much impact offensively but they are very similar player. Skating, stick handling, ability to protector the puck and skate it out of danger in the defensive zone, well except that lil screw up he had last game.
