that may be the case but they will always carry an extra D man on the roster. DD8 goes down that bumps guys up. my guess is this

If Dean doesn't call up Voynov with Doughty going to IR, you can kiss Voynov goodbye at the end of his contract. Even if Murray doesn't play Voynov in any NHL games, he deserves at least a week or 2 of NHL pay. Those two weeks could almost double his AHL salary.

It's the right thing to do. If Holloway got King's call up last year, I bet he would have re-signed with LA and would be in Manchester right now.

true. DD44 has more experience as a healthy scratch, he knows staples center more than anyother player and knows where all the bathrooms are so he has more experience sitting and watching than anyone else

It's all very simple (I think!). If it's going to be greater then 7 days then DD goes on injured reserve and you call up VV.

Just depends. Because once you're on the IR you're out for 7 days by law.

Kings play St. Louis, @Phoenix, Dallas, New Jersey, @Dallas in the next 12 days. No disrespect to those teams but if we were to lose Drew for 10 days at any point in the season, that's a good time.

Also, if it helps, Michael Sauer was out for exactly 10 days with a shoulder sprain. Injured against Philadelphia, back against the Kings in 10 days.

Sucks but sounds like he'll be back soon. I'm more concerned with Penner's injury - he seems to be suffering from complete-loss-of-game syndrome.

normally id agree, but doughty is so talented i dont see him slipping too much. Plus LA probably has the best collection of defensemen in the league.
