We seem to have a lot easier of a time getting up for the Devils games. As well as we have played them the past few seasons, we've been not so good against the Islanders.

This basically sums up my thoughts. The Fishsticks were literally handed this game by the refs. We dominated them in 5 on 5 play.

I really miss pre-lockout hockey. It seems like every season the calls get worse and worse.

That is a really tough loss, felt like the Rangers are the better team, just too many penalties, both legit and garbage. Really killed any flow the rangers could get going. Outside of one line, the Islanders really don't look that impressive.

Oh well, on to vancouver.

I thought they played pretty decent...

1. The isles always play like its game 7 of the cup finals against us...

2. Stupid Penalties although also 2 costly phantom calls.

3. they're intensity and forecheck were much improved.

And as far as needing a spark i dont know wtf your talking baout.

Oh so you can't be pessimistic? Yup the skies are blue! Wake up! The team has played like **** the first 3 games. No the world is not ending, but some of you need to lower your expectations of this team. Contend for the division? Lol. Home ice? Lol. 6-10 is where they'll finish. They dump and chase because they lack talent.

This.

It's impossible to get into a rhythm when you're shorthanded for 1/3 of the game.

There is no more important defenseman to his team in the NHL than Marc Staal is to the Rangers.

Truer words cannot be spoken.

I never thought this team would contend for the cup this year anyway... still too many holes. And then once Staal was having PCS symptoms I lowered my expectations even further.

When you have players like Wolski and EC still on the roster, no legit 1st line LW, and a dearth of offensive defensemen, that means you are still a team in transition. They aren't contenders yet.

Isles are hot, we're in a funk of an early season with all the travel.

Whatever, next game.

That's the thing.

We Isles might have the goaltending now.

And thanks for complimenting JT.

Gotta agree with you. Not making any excuses for the loss but the way the game is called nowadays makes it almost unwatchable at times. This is freakin hockey, not badmitten.

I'm not panicking yet. Look at the records of the cup champs this year. A few guys are just rusty from the European trip.

3 games is too small of a sample size, talk to me after 15-20 games.

Ignore them. Enjoy the win, the better team won the game.

Brother, are you ever right about this team. The pack line didn't even play in the 3rd period and deservedly so. It's the same old bugaboo no matter what ufa's they sign or who they draft and that is this team just doesn't have enough talent in terms of finishers. They basically played pretty well 5 on 5 particularly the 1st line and the 3rd line(boyle et al). Torts putting D-Step with Richards and Gabby was a stroke of genius. However, until they stop taking needless/mindless penalties and start scoring on the pp, they will continue to struggle. The defense played pretty well and Girardi/McDonagh pairing is terrific(McD is a beast), they do miss Staal on the penalty kill and Sauer's steadying presense.
