He should look unhappy. He's trying waaaaaaay too much out there, and more often than not he just turns the puck over. He's good with the puck on his stick but he needs to settle down and use his linemates more.

It was fun to score some goals, but let's not win like that often.

Don Cherry doesn't care if Duchene had a poor game. He loves him. A little creepy actually....

Duchene was pissed in that OT. He isn't a happy camper right now.

But hey, we scored goals. At what point is it official that we no longer have to worry about offense? We're at just over 3GPG now.

To me it was just a classy way to win a SO(a terrible way to decide a hockey game) in an opponents building. That was just the way I interpreted his reaction.

Kind of reminds me of his rookie season where O'Reilly got off to a much quicker start but Duchene finally settled in and started scoring. I think Duchene is trying too hard for that first goal, like he getting tunnel vision.

Edit: second goal, I didn;t realise he already had his first this season.

I really hope Duchene settles down and finds a rhythm...he's just trying to do too much...he's trying to stickhandle around everyone like Forsberg did, but Duchene can't do that, it's not effective and he isn't Foppa. He'll get it figured out.

He only played like 5 minutes, and he was still our worst player. That takes work.

McClemment certainly wasn't good tonight. Glad I had an argument with someone on the main board about him

1 for 6 in the faceoffs tonight (O'Reilly at 19 for 26(.731), Stastny at .619), and didn't really notice him except when he was failing to clear pucks on penalty kills.

What? it;s like 159.99, down from 169.99

I think you're confused by it being 19.99 per month if you go monthly payments.

Sacco didn't think so either. He certainly didn't get much ice time tonight.

Stastny and O'Reilly were beasts in the face-off circle tonight. Stastny went 13-8 and O'Reilly 19-7.

Thing is, he can do it. The problem I see is he tries to do it all the time. I like that he tries to strap the team on his back and make something happen, but he needs to pick his spots. Forsberg knew when to get fancy and hold onto the puck, Duchene still needs to learn that. Seems like he's trying for the wow factor to show everyone how good he is.

Well, I'll take the win but quite sad to see a few things :

1) Porter in the lineup - he proved tonight that he's not nearly as effective as Galiardi (big shocker lol)

2) O'Brien - had a very tough game, kept getting caught to the outside

3) Coaching - kept seeing O'Brien getting caught to the outside and apparently, made NO adjustment

4) Duchene - an 'off night' for him...great in the shootout though.

For the positive :

1) Johnson - I thought he had his best game of the season. Played smart and made simple plays instead of trying to do too much out there. He needs to play like THIS all the time and we'll be in great shape.

2) Stastny - I thought it was his best game of the season as well. Nice to see him finally get one and by stripping "all-star-superstar-franchise-next-bobby-orr" Pernel-Karl to boot.

3) Varly - Wasn't his best start but he was good enough for us to get the win and made timely saves and was money in the shootout.

Overall, for a 3rd game in 4 nights situation, I'm very proud of the way our team competed tonight. I still don't agree with Kobasew on Stastny's line but he made some nice plays tonight and scored a nice goal. As I already mentioned, the Porter decision is mind-boggling.
