Good decision to ditch the blue/black hat. It was just .

And as I like the black jersey, it's good to hear that they keep it. Together with the black hat it really looks fantastic.

They're only keeping it for this year though. They're ditching it in 2013, for a new blue alt.

I already heard about a uniform close to this year's "Los Mets" unis but I didn't know that they want to ditch the black .

I never understood why so many people hate the black uniform. Yes I know, black is not one of the original Mets colors. But it is a simple design which looks great combined with the black hat and the grey pants. And they even adjusted the logo to fit the style. This by the way distinguishes the Mets' designers from those who did the 3rd for the Isles: they are not blind...

Mets UPDATES!
-Daniel Murphy is on the block
-Mets have met with Frank Francisco's agent
- T. Bucholz is now a FA

And my favorite one....

Mets and Rockies have had discussions about a Pelfrey for Street swap!

That would be awesome....

That would be great if they had a team that could get to him in the 9th

New CBA has been agreed upon by MLBPA and owners per Ken Rosenthals twitter.. Few changes I've read about is that the Astros are moving to the AL come 2013 meaning there will be interleague all season long. Which I'm not a fan of at all.. They are also adding a second wildcard team which will have a one game playoff with the other wildcard team to advance.

Interesting stat I read on twitter today that if there were a second wild card team this year the Mets would have been only 2 games out at the trading deadline..

As much as Pelfrey can suck the life out of you as a fan, I'm not too keen on Streets option year for 2013. It's a lot of $ on a pretty average closer. I'd think there's a market out there for Pelfrey that would include a guy whose contract is up after 2012.

but whatever, I just say Non tender him. He's a total waste of space.

Marlins offer Reyes 6 years, $111 Million with $22 million dollar seventh year option or $5million buyout.

well bye bye Reyes in that case

Mets shouldn't match that. 5/90 or he can be someone elses injury problem.

If it is true then goodbye Reyes
But Rojas (ESPN Deportes) is terrible and I mean terrible when it comes to rumors. I can't recall one thing he got right that had not been reported before.....

So Dodgers fan in peace...what would it take from us to bring David Wright to LA?

(Don't say Kemp, Kershaw.)

Love Wrights game, and his bat. And if I have to watch Uribes fat ass play another game in Dodger Blue at 3rd base I will kill myself.

David is going nowhere now that Reyes is signing with the Marlins.

If not Kershaw, then you have to start with Gordon, one of Billingsly or Ethier, and one of Chris Reed (pitching prospect) or Tim Federowicz (Catching prospect).

One thing has nothing to do with the other.

David Wright isn't going to be traded now because his value is at an all time low. If they choose to go into a rebuilding mode then they'll deal Wright at the end of the year after picking up his option for 2013. They'll take the risk that the new dimensions will help him go back to being a great hitter. If he doesn't go back to being that great hitter, odds are his value isn't going to be any lower then it already is.

and it's also unlikely they'll deal him mid season because he'll have the ability to void the option for 2013 & then he'll become a FA. So any team looking to trade him wouldn't be willing to offer as much as they would if they can get him for a full year.

Yea that's kind of along the lines of what I was thinking.

I'd be happy to part with Bills and Ethier (since we have Sands coming through the system)...but Gordon man, that is where the deal gets hung up to me. But have to send good players to receive good players.

Capuano

But really, Wright could be had for the right price, and that is pitching, pitching, and more pitching.

I see what you mean.
Baasically, if Billingsly is in the deal, the the Mets will get Federowicz.
If the Mets get Ethier, then the Mets will get Reed.
It is a switch off. The Mets are thin at starting pitching, power outfield, and catching, so I was trying to think of something that will foill these needs.
Thole has had an up and down development, so I think a catching prospect would be important.

So this will be my final proposal:
Wright
Dan Murphy (he will not be our third baseman and I want Turner to get another serious look at second)
And maybe a throw in like Pagan

For

Gordon
Billingsly
Uribe (replaces Wright)
Federowicz/Reed

He's gonna get a pretty rough reception when he's back at Citi Field next year.

i'd be so shocked if he was still a marlin come 2015. worst part is, they'll probably trade him to the Yankees just as Jeter is retiring.

Wow. The Marlins really overpayed here. I thought he would get somthing like $90 million for around 5 or 6 years like the Marlins originally offered but $111 million is crazy. The scary part is that they still have room to sign a guy like Pujols. Man its tough being a Mets fan right now.

We weren't able to win with Reyes, now imagine how much more horrible we'll be without him

Life's hard as a Mets fan.

Goodbye Reyes.....
Now all three of my giant Mets posters will be taken down:
Beltran, Martinez, and now Reyes
As inevitable as it was, I am sad.
I was excited when he was first called up on his birthday at 19.
I was mad when Matsui took his SS job because I thought it would kill his development.
I was happy he was part of the dream team of 2006.
I am happy that he was on this team through the two collapses, injuries, awards, trade rumors, the cheering, the booing, the two stadiums, the Madoff scandal, and us up and down Mets fans.
Goodbye Reyes! I will certainly miss you.....
