Habs win 4-0, The Gomez Edition
Habs win a solid one. Low shot totals by the Rags, but King Carey hung looked calm and on top of everything. Price = unbeaten in 2 straight!
And #14 isn't comfortable on the point during the PP, right Tomas?
EDIT: PGT not GDT, dumb dumb!

Great game by Gomez
Great team win
forget about it and start focusing on the Bruins... time to string together back-to-back strong games and get this team on a serious run!

Rangers looked like ******* from top to bottom. Probably the weakest game I've seen from an opponent this year. At least Carolina put up a fight in the 3rd.
But good on the Habs for taking it to them. If a team's gonna roll over, kick them in the gut.

Great game by Scott. It is the Rangers after all. Let's hope it gets his confidence going.

2 consecutives very good games at home. Liking the crowd that was way too quiet for too long.

Rangers shots, 1st period - 5, second period - 5, third period - 7
: Martin sitting on leads again.
Who'd have thought Prices first career back-to-back shutouts would come behind Emelin, Diaz and St. Denis!

I dunno. I felt Cole was our best player out there when the game was close but Gomez really turned it on to seal the deal in the 3rd.

Amazing performance. If our power play is really picking up, this team can go places.

Well so did Plekanec, but Gionta had 2 goals and Cole set the momentum.

I'm positive that Bob Cole set a NHL record tonight for saying the word shutout in the last 2 minutes of the game.. He sounded like a broken record or maybe he was rapping..
You weren't trying to jinx Price at all Bob Cole..
Solid 60 minutes of hockey from the Habs tonight..

Playing a disciplined full 60 minutes will do that.

Plek Cole and Gionta were all ahead of him logically. Goals > assists. Price deserved third star for a shutout regardless of how easy it was.

"So, Carey, was your last game the easiest shutout of your career, or was it this one?"
And oh look, the PP's started scoring. Color me shocked, not.

Really? Gomez played awesome, but so did those two. Up until the mid-second, Gomez looked meh. He had some good plays but some bad turnovers too. After the mid-way point of the second, he turned something on and was awesome.
In a game like this though, it's hard to fault the star pickings for anyone because just about any Hab could be justified. I can't think of one player who didn't have a good game.
PS. Anyone like St-Denis' work in front of our net in the 3rd? I thought he was fantastic. Even better than I expected. Ice-time is slowly increasing, but I take that as a good sign.
