PG mentioned in yesterday's press conference that the doctor informed him prior to surgery that a 2nd reconstruction typically takes between 9 and 12 months to fully recover from. He also stated that we are around the 11 month period since the surgery and that he's on the right path.

Can't wait Marky!!!!!

totally off topic, but solid avatar. I miss Peep Show.

but yeah, about Markov - this whole back by Friday thing. For practice or light skate? I got all worked up. I guess after the long break we have coming up he'll have time to heal up to 100% and then join the team? Gomez coming back too. I wonder what the lines will look like cuz last night they looked pretty damn good. I also like AK-Eller-Moen (dunno how long that was together last night).

My stance has always been that if Markov wasn't playing by December...then, i'd be worried.

I expected mid-November all along, and that's where he is right now

Looking forward to seeing him on the ice, love watching Markov play

If Gomez is unable to play, Gauthier could put him on LTIR and look elsewhere for help but I think that would be an unnecessary panic move. However, judging from the game against the Flyers, I'd say the Habs could go with what they have. The minor move of acquiring Nokelainen for Trotter and a 7th rounder wasn't a bad idea.

If the team can keep winning, I can see them taking more time with Markov... every day on the IR is more cap money at the deadline!

Markov 1-2 weeks away from practicing with the team but will skate on his own in the meantime.

Any news about Campoli? Poor guy has gotten lost amidst all the other issues, but he'll be a solid addition.

Guys that Martin will never sit in a million years:

Gill
Spacek
Gorges

Which leaves three guys playing:

Subban
Weber
Diaz

Upon the Return of Markov and Campoli, who sits? The first choice is Diaz. That means Emelin is simply not playing. Or someone will have to play 4th line minutes.

There's going to be a log jam soon enough...I can see Campoli being scratched though.

Renaud Lavoie says a couple days for Markov to skate on his own before joining the team.

IMO they will trade Campoli at deadline.

We will never be fully healthy, so this scenario will never come to pass.

I had the same idea. If we can get a 2nd for him, would be a hell of a good deal for us.

While Diaz shows what he can be, he still has lots of room for improvement. I never expected him to start the season with montreal in the first place. From what I remember, Diaz can be sent down to the minors. When markov and campoli are back, thats just 2 extra pp players, so I really believe that diaz will be one of the odd men out.

But lets see if this D ever gets fully healthy....

I actually think Weber would be the odd man out. Not because he deserves it, but because it seems to me the org. values Diaz more than Weber at this point.

Diaz has been getting big minutes since the very first game whereas Weber is getting big minutes now as a result of Campoli/Spacek going down (and thus him shifting back to D) *and* because he's playing well.

I actually like diaz alot too, and I think he has more ability than weber, but he's kinda getting baptized by fire, and he's getting caught defensively at times. He's still learning the nhl brand.

As for weber, I think he will have a spot on this team on the 4th line if nothing else. His time is now to show what he can do defensively, because the team needs him more than ever. If he plays well, then that makes everything more cloudy.

Come on man. You cannot even compare amount of resources that have been spent on Weber compared to Diaz. Weber has been brought along by this organization, Diaz was nothing but a free agent signing. Weber is infinitely more valued by the organization at this point.

This is flat out wrong.

Diaz has gotten 20 minutes or more of TOI twice this season, Weber has had 20 or more minutes of TOI seven times.

The only time Weber got less than 17 minutes was in game 1.

And, just to clarify, just because Weber gets shifted to forward once in a while does not mean he is negatively viewed by the coaching staff. But rather, is the most fit to go to forward because he is effective there, and has produced there in the past.
