Have we ever polled our board to see who is the all-time Kings team? I don't recall seeing a poll, but I may have missed it since I was AWOL for a few years largely.
If not, I'd be willing to do one if there is interest. Reply with who you'd like to see on the first poll.
EDIT: I mean all-time top 20 Kings players, not a best team by year.
Since ive only been a hockey fan for about 11 years now, im gonna go with the players I know (i dont think my opinion has much value when it comes to the guys I never saw play), so players I would nominate would be:
Robataille
Taylor
Gretzky
Dionne
Palffy
Deadmarsh
Kopitar
Brown (when he is on his game)
Are we looking for the best players, or the right players?
Just the best players to ever wear a Kings jersey (while they were actually in a Kings jersey). Sort of like our top 20 prospects poll, just with all-time Kings players.
And they can only be looked at for what they did as a King, not for the rest of their careers.
Also need to know if you are talking about the 20 best players or are you talking about a literal roster with four lines, three defensive pairs and two goalies? I ask because Charlie Simmer makes one list but not the other so it's important to distinguish.

Good lord! Craig Johnson is ranked as our #12 LW. That should tell you about our deficiency on LW throughout our franchise history.
Finally someone mentions Jay Wells. I was getting worried. Ones I think are missing: Butch Goring, Jimmy Carson (OK - only for 1 year - but it was a good year). The 1st round pick we traded away that became Ray Borque. <sigh>
I know he's a forward, but can Stumpel challenge for they pylon award?
i think butch goring gary sargent rogie vachon Larry Murphy to me centers are Dionne Kopi Gretzky and Goring wingers deadmarsh taylor luc brown palfy simmer Shultz clifford fox defence blake drew larry Murphy gary sargent jj and goalies rogie and quick and bernier thats my team
I'd throw in "bonecrusher" Benning and Tsygurov. Both softer than Charmin.
And Rob Cowie. Number 77, really? That's like Peter Harrold picking number 66 or 99.
Wow some of the greatest players in Kings history no doubt! Don't forget some of the greats like John Slaney, Chris Snell, Dominic Lavoia (Last Kings D-man with a hattie by the way), Steven Finn, Justin Hocking....I'm sure I'm missing a few more.

Hattie as in hat trick? If memory serves, I think actually Lubo scored a hat trick as a king against dallas once.
