Very nice GDT, Habsman56!

I have Leino and Ehrhoff, as well as Miller in my pool... I still hope the Habs win.

I've never said nice game thread before but that one was fun to read. Well done.

Can't help but feel like this is David vs Goliath tonight.

Nothing like a win against a team like that to get us going though.

I think Price has a big game tonight. He wasn't happy with the last one. Needs this one.

There's our problem:

Shots per game, 33
Shots against per game, 25

We should be giving up way more shots, and taking a lot less, only way they win

Problem is when we were allowing a lot of shots last few seasons most were perimeter shots and there was always strong defensive positioning in front of Price and he got good looks at pucks. These shots are better quality shots, shooters are getting better lanes. But even though a lot of goals are the direct result of defensive error this year I'm sure Price would like to see some of them back.

The Sabres are 3-0 on the road.
I certainly hope the Canadiens show up tonight.

6-1 Sabres

Roy (2)
Vanek
Erhoff
Myers
Stanford

Pacciorety

The Sabres have 1 great deep lineup. Real NHL players everywhere, knowing their role and happy to play it. And very well coached, by a very respected coach.

Who's been there for 50 years.

In Buffalo they don't run their coaches out of town every 3 years. Stability goes a long way. Though they always seem to come up a bit short. I called Buffalo for the Cup this year. We'll see.

This is a huge game for us in this young season...hopefully we come out with a purpose tonight because starting behind the 8 ball in a deep Eastern conference will be tough sleddin'.

Even if we lose it's not over, but if we don't come out with a good effort tonight then I will have my indication of how this team responds when the chips are down.

Injuries are part of hockey...no excuses.

I can usually feel a loss coming and I can't say I feel one tonight

-Price won't be as derpy as he was against Colorado
-Subban will have a good game for the 1st time this season
-Our PP will finally get it's **** together
-Max Pac pots a pair and Habs go on to win 3-1
-I will continue to be overly optimistic

GO HABS GO

Price will be fine, he is no Theo...look for a low scoring game, 2-1 or 3-2 kinda deal...Miller is always tough !

I think we defeat them but its a normal tight one versus the Sabres. 3-2. Price is the reason we win though. By that I mean he scores 3 goals... or do I

Habs will lose tonight, but they'll play well.

I have to say though, the Sabres are praised everywhere, Habs players know this, and that's usually when they rise to do their best. When they know they have to play strong all game long to win.

Man that Sabres D looks solid. We're in tough tonight. Hopefully we can grit out a 3-2 win, Pacs stays hot with 1G 1A for the first star, PK gets the GWG and Price bounces back with 29 saves.
