That's not possible. The Flyers have just over $500,000 of cap space with Lappy on LTIR, and Zolnierczyk makes $900,000. There's no way they can do this without another move. Also, there's nothing confirming this anywhere.

It is confirmed on the Flyers' website (Twitter). The link has now been placed within the first post.

I think Betts is on the LTIR as well

Heres what Dave Issac said:
Quote:
The Flyers are able to afford Zolnierczyk’s $900,000 salary because they have a cap allowance of $1,866,667 since they placed both Ian Laperriere and Blair Betts on long-term injured reserve.

Betts - 0.60m
Lappy - 1.16m
Together - 1.76~m on LTIR
EDIT: 1+6 = 7 not 8 so I guess we had 0.1 to start with. That or writers can't add.
Also, still no Schenn eh?
1.86 - 0.90 = 0.96m in cap space

It was written in the Inquirer but never confirmed officially. Shelley's suspension ends after the Ottawa game, too.

We were already using some of that 1.86 before calling up Harry Z I believe

Apparently, it's possible.
Elliotte Friedman wrote yesterday that even with Betts and Lappy on LTIR, they still may not be able to call up Brayden Schenn.

Coburn is now with the team. Holmgren called Harry Z.'s promotion "a precaution."

Damn, I was hoping if a move was made Schenn would be up. Harry Z played well in preseason though.

The question is why? If it is a precaution, my guess is someone is banged up.

Coburn wasn't back with the team. Walker would have stepped in at the 6th dman.

One of the #Flyers, believed to be Nodl, has a nagging injury, which is why Harry Z is here as a precaution.

Makes more sense I guess. If it had been worries about Coburn not making it, I guess Gustafsson would have been recalled

If anyone. They could dress Walker for a game. However, at forward, with Shelley suspended, there is no alternative.

Betts has also been placed on LTIR. And that give the Flyers a little more than 1.1M of LTIR Cap space to work with.

Oh god, don't remind me 8(. Down goes Rinaldo because we all know Homer won't admit his mistake with the Shelley signing.
